Unemployment Claim made easy now a days....

I recently lost my job of 5 1/2 years. Upon being let go I immediatly went home and jumped online to file my unemployment claim. i couldn't believe the ease of it all. I was literally done within 15 minutes. No long unemployment line to stand in, no long unnecessary forms to fill out. Three days later I received my paperwork from the Dept. of Labor stating my first claim for benefits would be by 8/5/09 AND because I input my bank information for direct deposit purposes, No waiting for the mail to receive my check. It will automatically be deposited into my bank account...now how is that for service and efficiency.
Fellow mylotters, have you had to deal with the unemployment agency recently? How was your experience?? Please share:)

My husband has been on employment, and it's very easy. All you have to do is file each week on the computer, and it's in your checking account in a few days. If my husband does his filing during Sunday, it's usually there by Tuesday morning. It's very good that these are dependable. The only thing you have to watch out for is if there's a holiday anytime during that timeframe. That'll delay it by a day or so.

I had to file 6 years ago, I did it over the phone, it was very easy. Fortunatly I was able to find a job before the first check could come in. I hope that it is the same case for you.

Thats good to hear that it has been made easier for a while now. Im actually looking forward to some time off and collecting....I am at least trying to take the rest of the summer off...if not the rest of the year ;)

I did the unemployment thing for a few months about 7 years ago. I had to go down to the office and fill out a bunch of junk and then wait for a check in the mail. Two of my brothers are currently on unemployment and it was a lot easier for them. They both get theirs on a card.

Hello my friend,
I was laid off a little over a year ago. Like you said, It was easy, to file. Everything is done online. There is no way you can get anybody by calling that 800 number. Soon everybody will be replaced with computers and automated systems...
I hope and pray you get a job soon. To be honest with you, It's very, very difficult. There is nothing out there. I got 2 extentions from unemployment, allready. I have friends that are going on 3 years without work and they too got their extentions.
Well, I want to wish you good luck and whatever you experience never give up. Keep the Faith and stay positive no matter what.
