This was a really good deal to get Gas Guzzlers off the road. I guess this just shows how good it was. I had a van sitting out in my driveway that I was going to try and jump off to take advantage of this deal. The 1 billion dollar budget the government had for the Cash For Clunkers program is almost gone which resulted in the suspension. They give billions of dollars to bail out banks and its just a 1 billion dollar budget for Cash For Clunkers? Thats not fair although I do think they need to pull back on all these handouts. The government went on to say the suspension might be temperary until they can possibly work something out. I don't even know if i'm going to be able to jump my van off as its be sitting out their dead in my driveway for months. I'll try my best and hopefully the program will be around later. Its worth the $4500 credit.

We have a system in this country England if you car is ten years old you can trade it in for a new one and get money off.The only trouble with that is ,if you run an old car you cannot afford a brand new one.you don't run an old car through choice. The scrappage scheme is a waste of time.If they said the cars have to be five years old it would work better as there would still be some value in the old car.like most things the people who think these schemes up don't live in the real world. They have plenty of money and everything else except common sense.

I was thinking the same thing. Why didn't they suspend the bank bailouts after 1 billion, and give the cash for clunkers the higher budget? It would have sure done a lot for the planet, if they'd done it that way, and the banks would have learned a valuable lesson about lending to the wrong people.

You may not get it the government, has revised this already. I know one thing that changed is it has to get, less then 19 gallons of gas per fill Then there are a few other things such as rust, function and how it's taken care of ect.
The rich and the poor seem to be fine its us, in the middle that are grasping at straws to breath. I hope your dealer has not changed though ,I think it was mandatory. Check it out ,On ABC.com Good Luck to you ! I personally think the government should just foot the bill for good Samaritans, who are struggling with this economic crisis. We could all go on welfare then what?????????? Maybe that is what they want for us to become dependent on them.
