We constantly talk about the possibility of inhabiting another planet, possibly even the moon, but is this really a smart approach? Don't we have enough areas on our own planet that we could inhabit if it came down to it, for example the ocean floor or the North or South Pole?
View A: We should attempt to inhabit other planets beyond Earth. This will allow us to survive and advance us in the areas of healthcare and technology.
View B: We should inhabit as much of the Earth as possible including ocean floors and seemingly desolate areas. The expense would be much less than traveling to outer space.

Well, the Earth only has so much space. Eventually, we will run out of one thing or another, and will be forced to move into space to start anew.

There is enough space on earth to sustain everyone including the animals, forest, mountains, oceans etc. The only thing difficult is that the space is unevenly distributed. Some nations have a large number of population but a scarcity of space to live. On the other hand there are nations which have a very small amount of population but has a large amount of space. Speaking about India and China for example; we are neighbours and compete for the population peaking. But the space is very less. Now if we consider New Zealand there is a very thin population and yet they have a large amount of space. Another thing is: why should we think of sending probe vehicles to other planets and spend millions of dollars and find out that Earth is unique. Can this money not be used for the betterment of the condition of humans?

View A. This will give us access to unlimited living space and endless resources.
View B. Earth has limited resources. When those are gone, it does not matter if we have occupied every bit of the planet, humanity will die.
For me, this is a no - brainer. We must go into space if humanity is to survive in the long run.
