How many people actually post pictures that they have the rights to?

I want to post more pictures when I start discussions, but it says you have to have the rights to the picture. I posted some artwork by Trevor Brown on some discussions I started, and I put, "Artwork By Trevor Brown" To describe the picture so it shows up when people see the discussion. Do you think if I at least put credit for where I found the pic, or who it's by or who the art is by that it will be okay? Besides it might get Trevor even more fans.
How many of you who post pics with your discussions actually own the rights to the pics? Or do you just post any picture you want?

I will only post two kinds of photos. Those that I have taken myself and a clipart that gives me permission to post it on another site. You can get these from mooglitters, glittergraphics and several other sites. But most of the time, I only post pics that I've taken. It narrows the chances of getting things deleted on mylot.
