Opinions on Design of a website?  

While I do find the stars and pink a little distracting, it's not something that scares me away from the site. It just kind of leads your attention away from the important part.
Perhaps if you stretched the white box to reach the top and bottom of the site, the focus would be more on the center of the screen.

Web designing has more to do with art. I would like to give an honest opinion. This site does not look like an ecommerce website. Think abt ur target audience when designing websites. Sites like eBay, amazon could be kept as a model. By adding a star did u impress an audience? Compare it to a real world situation. If u went into a jewelery shop and they display stars in a pink room, would u buy? Prob is u wont. U may want to steal colors from a neighbourhood shop that sell same items. Plain bkgs work best. Because its an ecommerce shop u could spend buying a webdesign bk and read. Use paypal or google checkout in ur website. It ll increase trust among ur visitors. Google recently launched a system that makes it very easy to set up a store like urs. All the best.

Right firstly if you are happy with it, you get plenty of hits and people use it in the manner you wish then what everyone else says doesn't matter.

Now to what I think of your sites design and to give you my back ground I was a website designer/ developer and manager for many years.

So firstly, I will admit that the background with the stars was a bit overbearing for me, but I like the fact that it makes the site stand out from the crowd. Personally I would look at a comprimise with the background by toning the colours down a tiny bit so it's not so in your face and your focus is on the main content and not the background.

Secondly, I feel the site lacks branding, as usually you get a logo at the top of the page and as there wasn't one I found it slightly confusing and it took me a few moments to realise that the words across the top were in fact the navigation. Plus without the branding I didn't know immediately what the site was about and had to work it out from the content.

This leads me to my third point, I would try and make it a little more obvious where your navigation is by using a simple colour change when you place a mouse over a link. By doing this it makes it easier for people to navigate your site.

Finally on your images you should also provide a simple alt tag which says "click here for more info" as I wasn't immediately sure whether I should click an image for more information or not.

These are just my initial observations and done from a professional perspective. But as I said to start with if you are happy with your site and it working just fine then keep going as you are. Good luck and I hope you don't take offence to any of my advice.

i am a web designer by profession and i always feel that a website should be designed more with the thought that is should be very clear to the user how to get the required information very quickly. i mean a visitor must be looking at so many websites when he is looking for a piece of information and so he must be looking at a lot of different websites which are all made in a very different design and so he may be very confused when he comes to your website and so i think it is always very good to have a good looking design but very simple and elligant so that the user will know where to go and how to go. this way you can get more response from your website

I myself am an artist and an aspiring web designer. I think that your website flow together very nicely with the picture. It brings all of it together, it's really nice. But honestly it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. It's only you. Artists and people alike each have their own view point and not everyone is going to like what you do. About you web page my opinion is yes it is bright I'm assuming you are trying to get peoples attention and you got mine. I was interested to go on and continue to look around.I think the way someone designs something tells a lot about a person.and I'm 24 year old mommy of 2 so there you go you are attracted more than the what you expected,and the site is not even up yet . what do you think of you site is what matters.I don't know a lot about web design and stuff like that but couldn't you go back in and change it if it wasn't help your sales or you were getting complaints.I hope i was helpful have a nice day beki710(521)

I think the content is good and pretty clear on what to expect from the website. But, the color and stars around is very much distracting. But, I think the color and the design might be good for teens and children. whats the reason for the first page to have link "Enter Site". Any plans of having a flash page in future ?

maybe u can get a free template from the internet. just search for free blogger template. then find for template that best suit you and apply it. this will save your time significantly.
