I Must Get Rid Of This Junk - I'm Having A Yard Sale Saturday!

Wow! It is amazing how much junk you can accumulate within a few years time. I haven't had a yard sale in a few years and I am planning on having one Saturday. I really hope I can get rid of this stuff. I don't look at my stuff as being "hidden" treasures or anything, I'm selling it all CHEAP just so I can get rid of it. I have already sold a playpen to a lady I work with for only $2, yup, all this junk MUST go!! Do you ever feel like just selling all your junk? Do you have yard sales to get rid of it?

I love yard sales, singlemommy! I have often thought that I would like to have one myself, but it is not allowed at the complex where I live. I used to go to a lot of yard sales with two of my daughters and found some amazing bargains.

I love going to yardsales as well. I always wind up buying something though. I hate the thought of leaving empty handed. LOL I wish I could have one of my own. I have so much stuff! I think I would make a fortune just marking everything 25 cents. Could you imagine all the stuff.

The good thing about yard sales is that not only one can money, but also there will be lots of spaces after yard sales and also people who needed things can get things for lesser amount.

I have never had a yard sale but I was able to sell some stuff I needed to get rid of a rummage sale! The rummage sale is the first weekend of the month, every month, where one of friends live. His landlord holds it every month. If anyone want to sell stuff there you can bring it over! I was able to sell cd's,collector plates and beanie babies. I plan to sell more cd's next month! So far I have made some good money! The landlord takes a 20% commission on the stuff she sells but I don't care! I'm getting rid off stuff I don't want anymore and making money at it!

Unfortunately in India things like this don't happen. But I get rid of my things when I don't use them by giving them to poor childrens who ill afford them OR better donate it to some orphanage.

I have so much stuff I need to get rid of! I too would like to do the garage sale thing, but have no garage or any place to hold a sale. I have unloaded a few items on FreeCycle and CraigsList. I will try the Amazon thing for all my books as well.

I think it is always great to have a yard sale. One of the reason is that it can earn you couple of extra dollars and also it helps to get us more storing space. I think you should try to have yard sales if there are lots of things there that you really does not need.

I hope you do really well with your yard sale. I have not had one in years either. People do not comne back our road for it anyway. We usually take our stuff and drop it off at the Goodwill. I wish we could sell stuff here but it is next to impossible.

I was supposed to be doing a car boot sale today but my friend who has the car changed his mind so I didn't. Me and my other friend have been planning to do one for ages but just haven't finalised exactly when and arranged it properly. There are 2 locally on a Sunday we could choose from every week it's just arranging the transport and getting everything ready. I've got loads of stuff to get rid of that I can't be bothered to put on eBay as it's not worth the hassle and would just like to sell directly to someone.

I only get this feeling if I have to do house cleaning... We do not sell do a yard sale or garage sale. We sell it to the karung guni man, one who comes round the estate asking for junks. They are selective too and pays little. We prefer to contribute the junk to the recycle bins.

I need to have one now. I am still sorting out stuff to try to see what I can get rid of. Of course I am finding a lot of stuff that just needs to be thrown away so I am doing that too. It is hard for me to decide to let something go though because I tend to be a packrat. This is one reason it takes me so long to get a yard sale ready. I have to go through stuff more than once to decide to get rid of it. I have come to a time in my life that I am real tired of having all this stuff to take care of though so I am determined to get rid of the clutter. My new motto is if I am not actively using it I don't need it. When I get this project finished I am going to write a book on clutter.

I know exactly what you mean I have an overload of junk..some still new stuff people get me as gifts that I just never use or wonder what they were thinking of when they bought since it is so not me..But I keep it and it piles up and up..I know have the whole guest bedroom full..my closet stuffed to the top, my computer room stuffed full but a walk space..so it is time to get rid of some stuff. I have been putting a little of it on eBay at a time and so far most has sold. Ebay cost to list but in the end we usually get more then we would have sold at a yard sale. I have tried yard sales many of them and usually end up dragging the stuff back in the house. Not alot of people drive out my way and I live 10 miles from town up a holler. We have tried selling it in the store parking lot at the end of our holler but didn't get as much as we needed or expected. I am having what I call a toss away party..I am tossing everything I can't/haven't used away or it goes in sell pile. I sale pretty cheap..usually .10,.25,.50 cent stuff.

I haven't had one this year. I usually have one every other year. I mark it so it will go also. I don't try to make a fortune, just get rid of it.

we generally end up having a couple of garage sales every summer. you are right, its pretty amazing how much stuff you accumulate. i make it a practice to donate used stuff about every couple of months to our local thrift store. it helps.

I love going to yard sales. I’ve picked up incredible bargains. The only thing that puts me off is getting up early on a weekend in order to get to the sales nice and early! I have never set a yard sale or garage sale as we call them here. I too have a lot of junk I have accumulated over the years but I am too lazy to sort through it, price it and put it up for sale! Good luck with yours singlemommy hope you get lots of extra cash!

Good luck with your garage sale, i love both having them and going to them. You never know what you are going to find....Since the economy is so bad lately that is what i have been doing to help us out with a little extra cash. I have been getting stuff from a number of different places, so i have different stuff every time i have one.
