Sorry for the ignorance, but I needed to know if I can ask you people if it is okey for my hubby to take such protein drinks even if he will not go to gym. The problem is, I wanted him to gain weight. He does not have time for work outs or gym because of his changing schedule of work. He is so lazy to eat. I don't know what else to do for him to gain weight.
Is there a way I can do for weight gain in just few weeks without going to gym? I hope you can share with me something helpful.

Yes you can gain weight with out going to the gym but you can not build muscle with out working out. If your husband does not get enough protein in his body from eating then it will not hurt him, however if he eats a lot of meats and is taking protein shakes as well without working out, he will be putting too much protien in his body.

sure you can still drink it but you should only drink it when you are using up lots of energy or have high metabolism its easy to burn off the calories.

Yes, we just bought a Mega Gainer with 3,000 calories stated there. About fast metabolism, yes, no doubt about it. The first drink we felt sleepy though, but was still feeling lite, not bloated. I guess we will be reading more info on their own website. Thanks for the response.

I would be careful with that. It depends on how much he drinks of course. Protein derived from whey is the best kind of protein you can get. However, if your husband is not a body builder, drinking lots of whey protein a day means that you consume a lot of excess protein that's not needed in your body. This excess protein could potentially cause stress on your liver because the liver has to break down a certain part of protein constantly. I say everything in moderation is good. If he has a high metabolism I was told that peanut butter is helpful?..

Thanks for that insight. He has a fast metabolism. But he just disagree with my idea of drinking whey is not good, because he insist that it needs exercise or going to the gym. I am still searching for ways what to do for him to gain weight. I won't be depending only on a drink, and that's for sure. Thanks for the response.

many people here misconcept the importance of whey protein, did they give you a figure as basis for there thougths? protein is one of the basic nutrients that our body needs for our daily strenght/functional strength and whey protein is the highest gold standard source of protein, some said in this thread that it is hard to digest, though they know that we have 7 types of whey protein? and the best type that is fast releasing is whey isolate and hydro-whey, now with regard to if is safe, yes it is safe for daily consumption as long your husband doesn't exceed, the required grams of protein for ordinary individual, 1 grams per body pounds, so lets just say your husband is 140lbs., the amount of protein he needs a day is 140 grams only, you can measure the amount of protein per serving of every whey canister by checking the nutritional info., now my best advise for your hubby if you want him to gain weigth, i believe you husband is hardgainer (ectomorph type of body) he needs to eat 6 small meals aday with time spacing of 3hours and his diet should consist of 40%low glycemic carbs., 40%high biological value protein (like whey protein) and 20% healthy fats (like extra virgin olive olive, canola oil or fish oil/omega3)..carbs. should be 2grams per body pound, using the above example 280 grams of carbs is ideal to minimize fats, you can check the amount of carbs/calorie/protein per serving of foods by going to calorieking.com...still i have much to say but i got limited time here, it will be perfect to include your husband regiment to have cardio-exercise once or twice a week 20-30mins. is just enought....HOPE THIS HELP!
...oh by the way, you can check my profile and topics i posted, i posted an statement for the types of protein..have a nice day!
