I have seen many people confusing lust with love. They think they are in love but it is mere lust. They will understand that after a period of time. If someone proposes an intimate relationship to you how will you find out whether it is love, or just lust?

yes....true love is judged when given time and also some tiem of separation....if its lust both will forget each other after some days, but its true love ...it grows with time and more and more when they are away...this is my personal view...don't know what others have to say ...lets read out

The confusion comes because people are desperate to love and be loved. Everyone wants to be in love. And it is just right on the other line of lust too. Lust becomes love at some points. And likewise you can fall out of love with a person. Only time can really determine lust or love. Lots of time and patience. Someone once said loving someone is about dealing with them. If you can handle even the bad things about them and still wake up and look at them and feel joy, then it's love.

If a person knows to define what love is, then he or she will never be confuse of what love and lust will be. A lust is so obvious because it is only shallow, not even under your skin.
Real love is deep and not being self centered. A person who loves can easily show his or her love with sacrifice and willingness, not to think only of himself/herself but for the sake of the person he or she loves.
Unlike in lust, it can only be felt when seen or demonstrated. It is more visual rather than real feeling or emotional. Lust will never last, true love will.

you get to know the person you think you're in love with...you spend time with them just talking and learning about each other. i love my bf. he's a wonderful, sweet man and i know this because we have spent months talking, telling each other stuff and getting to know each other.
