stay at home mom |
|
i am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom. i've worked a bit here and there but i was missing out on too much. i did'nt want to have to hear about all the things i was missing from the babysitter. i enjoy staying home with my girls because im there with them and can take them to school and help them with homework. im there from the moment they wake up to the moment they lay down at night. i am especially grateful because my middle daughter has autism. she requires alot of attention and im there to help her with EVERYTHING. it is difficult but i wouldnt have it any other way. from time to time i think about going back to work but my girls need me too much.

2. polo_princess (594) | 5 months ago | Before i had my daughter i had always wanted to be a SAHM but now she is here things are completely different. I have a pretty high paid job and we are really missing the money so i will be returning to work part time once she turns 1 year old. I think that way we are getting the best of both worlds as i will work sometime and spend the other time at home with her. Having the money will mean she doesnt have to want for anything either, she can have a nice comfortable life.

3. imsilver (1459) | 5 months ago | I'm with ya there. I've loved staying home with my kids. I always thought that I'd go back to work when they started school but I found that they still need me around just as much. I try to stay very active in the school and I want them to know that I value them so much and I want to be a part of their lives - not someone who makes it home in time for dinner. I tried to go back to work last year for a bit but it just led to so many hassels. We've adjusted to me being there no matter when, no matter what. Going out of the house to work stressed me out way too much.
Now, I'm thinking... when they are both in high school... maybe then... until then I'll do the best I can from home.

| 4. hunnie1979 (79) | 5 months ago | I am very lucky to to be a stay at home mom.I have a 3 year old son.He is so much fun .I also have a 13 year old that is a hand full. I am 30 years old. So I had my daughter very young. I was still interested in doing my own thing at 17 years old. I was lucky to have her fathers mother take care of her often. But I do regret it. I missed out on so much of her early years. And also our relationship is up and down always. But now I do have a chance to do it the right way with my son.Just thought I'd share. One more thing. I have had a number of family members tell me they think my son may have autism for a number of reasons but just to name one.He walks on his tip toes. And never, ever is flat footed. Is this a sign.May be we could talk more if you don't mind

| mamaplus2angels (28) | 5 months ago | well i havent heard of that sign but i would say my daughter is a bit clumsy. shes not too stable with her posture. she has a weak grip and she prefers to just let loose (her body). she recieves therapy 2x's a week to help her. search the internet there is tons of info. thats where i got alot of my info. also by talking to teachers, therapist, and other ppl. if u have any questions feel free to ask. by the way alot of signs start to show when they are 3 yrs old.

| 6. jenzee1982 (40) | 5 months ago | I never thought I wanted to be a SAHM, but now that I have my son I don't want to be away from him. I feel the same way, I don't want someone else telling me what my son is acheiving, I want to be there to see it first-hand. I'm lucky enough to have the ability to stay home, and altho I feel bad about not contributing more to the finances sometimes, I'm so glad that we can keep our little guy at home and be the ones that he is bonded closest with.

9. zzyw87 (732) | 5 months ago | It is a good decision that you made. Family will always be more important over anything else. That is why I always want and plan to be a housewife someday when I have kids already. Also, I don't think I can handle work stress in addition to household stress. I am also thankful that my own mom is a devoted housewife. She really takes care of us and guides us in our studies, etc. I think a kid should always have his/her mother by their side while growing up.
