i don't think this is always that obvious. for example if you're a christian i don't atheisim is the always the most different - it often uses the same set of beliefs but instead of saying god exists it's god doesn't exist. denying instead of believing basically. so which view or set of views do you think is completely different to yours?

Hello Jb. Since I very much believe in God's existence, I would have to say that anyone who questions that he does exist or believes firmly that he does not exist at all would be most opposite to myself. I have ever only needed to observe the wonders of people and nature to know that God is present all around and in us.

The belief of atheism is more open-ended than how you describe it. Sure, not every atheist is a moral less animal as a religious person would describe them; but there is not really a similarity between them and, say a Christian.
In my case, I am an atheist. I would most closely fit with belief's on the Left-Hand path (Satanism, Paganism, Wicca, Shamanism, etc.), and not fit with Right-Hand path religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam).

i didn't say all or mean all (or even most) atheists - but sometimes their belief is just denying a religious one. i think this is mainly true of those that have a religious background. what i was tring to do was give an example of two beliefs that are perhaps not as different as they first appear. maybe we need a clear defnition of atheism - i would call you an agnostic. atheism to me just means no religious or spiritual beliefs, usually morals though. however it might be a good idea to describe what we mean rather than just use terms that can be vague.

I admire [I won't say follow because it is meant to be practised 'yogically' and my lifestyle does not give me the chance for that] monism or Advaita Vedanta.
Advaita, a Sanskrit term translates as non-dual.
So naturally, dualism is the most different path than mine imaginable. This obviously means all the Abrahamic religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam and also some branches in my own religion, Hinduism. And may be a few more.
You didn't specify your own, by the by.
