What some foods would you serve at a kids birthday party?

I usually get pizza and make a salad....because most everybody likes pizza. For appetizers..this time around...I put out chips and salsa...I made a bean dip....just a layer of refried beans, sour cream with taco seasoing, letuce, tomatoe and black olives. You can make tacos, or just do kid friendly appetizers....like pizza rolls, mozzarella sticks, veggie tray, bean dip, chips and dip and salsa.
For some healthy alternatives you could try
rice cakes with cheese and other semi-healthy things on top
Fruit kebabs - 2-4 different types of fruit stuck on kebab sticks
thats all I can think of at the moment! But yeah, try and have a few yummy healthy alternatives that will actually interest the kids... fruit kebabs always seem to be a fave.

yeah, fruit kebabs seem to be a nice way to got..
as for us here, usually for the kids birthday we just make spaghetti and fried chicken. For the older ones well, we have soup and salads too. sometimes we also make menudo or caldereta.
We tried to vary the menu for the children one time at a birthday but we ended up with the kids not eating at all except for the cake and ice cream so we decided to stick to the menu. lolz

It varies from party to party for us, but one thing I always serve with what ever is Macaroni and Cheese. Almost all kids like macaroni and cheese. At least I know with the macaroni and cheese that all of the kids will get something to eat. In 13 years of throwing kids parties only 1 kid has not liked the macaroni and cheese. I always serve some kind of fruit too. Usually watermelon because it is plentiful. That always goes over really well too. Then it varies, hot dogs, or pizza, fun side dishes. We had one party where we let the kids make their own English Muffin pizzas, that was fun.

usually when it is a kid's birthday, we choose food that are easy to prepare and that which the kids would like. usually it is pizza, spaghetti, and hotdogs. cheese sticks are favorites too and cake and ice cream afterwards.
enjoy the party.

Fruit kabobs sound great, and some veggies and dip are also yummy. Kids love a pinata, which is something to consider. Maybe put fruit leathers instead of candy, especially in this heat. It's a healthier alternative, too.
