Omega -3 fatty acids from fish not only help keep cardiovascular diseases at bay in healthy folks, but also reduces the incidence of cardiac events and mortality in patients with existing heart diseases. This has been published in the "Journal of the American College of Cardiology" in its August, 2009 issue.

I'm glad that the medical community is catching up. I am excited that we are learning how our foods affect our health. Isn't it nice that we can affect our health in a positive way with positive habits. I also like the idea of hawthorn berry as an herb to strengthen our hearts. I wonder if there are any medical studies on it's use. It seems like this is the best time in history to be alive. We have so much more available to us than ever before in history.

Thank you for responding in this discussion which relates our heart.I agreee with you that the food what we consume is affecting our health. I will post if any information I will get about the hawthorn berry.You are right that we are living in a best time in history . I was just reading about that on another site. It isn't just fish oil, though, but anything that contains Omega 3 fatty acids, like flax, purslane, walnuts and some other vegetables that I can't remember right now. I'm glad they published the study because it lends support to alternative health methods.

Your response is informative that the Omega 3 fatty acids are available in flax, purslane,walnuts and some other vegetable, which you cant remember now. I request you to post it whenever you remember about it or when you will get new information about the heart health. It will be useful to many of our fellow mylottians. Those vegetables are dark green, like broccoli, spinach, kale, brussels sprouts, also pumpkin seeds. Hope that helps.

The Omega oils, not only protect your heart but help with emotions ,weight,diabetes and helps ease menopause symptoms. It also helps your joints and muscles to take more when exercising .Then there is your skin,nails and hair strengthen .
