I am disucssing the writing style with someone right now. So, this reminds me of you guys!
To begin with, I am a big fan of your writing syle, as you can imagine! So, let me ask you a quesion!
What's you name? What's your first name? Where are you from? Where are you going? How many people are there in your house? How many units of cropland per person has? How many cattles in the cropland? Ok, you don't have to answer it! Just kidding!
I'm wrong, I'm really wrong, I'm wrong from the beginning. I shouldn't asked you a question here, if I didn't ask, you would never know my English was so awful. If you don't know my English sucks, I'll never in this shame place now.
Let me ask you a real question, which may make a little bit sense!
Is there any chance that I can write as well as you some day?
Any advie?
You'd better not tell me to read as much as I can!
Guess how many masterpieces I have read all these years?
A TALE OF TWO CITIES, DAVID COPPERFIELD, GREAT EXPECTATIONS, GULLIVER'S TRAVELS,JANE EYRE, MEMOIRS OF SHERLOCK HOLMES,OLIVER TWIST are all in my mind! Plus, I have already read The old man and the sea for five times.
So, any suggestion?

Hiddenwing, I don't see anything wrong with your writing style. Your English is not perfect, but I don't know one word of Chinese, so that makes our relationship rather lopsided. You have a distinct advantage over me.

FYI - Use your dictionary. I see only one misspelled word. This is an excellent record. However, there is another place where I believe you used the wrong word. Did you mean to write "shame place", or did you mean "same place"? Again, I say that you write very well for someone for whom English is a second or third language.
I have met more than a few native born Americans who cannot do as well.

I wanted so say that I was in an awkward or perplexing situation. So, I said "I would never be in a shame place"! Apparently, the sentence that I made was far from native! I don't really have any desire to practice more than 10000 times but since the world works in marathon terms I can handle a half. Don't worry! I won't become bookworm anyway! haha
I get up early in the morning. So, my day is longer than some others!
I have lots of time to enjoy everything! Plus, I have enough time to sleep too!

I'm sorry that I misunderstood your statement. Shame is a word that too many Americans do not know. I frequently feel shame for them.

However, I heard some Americans have said "shame on you" to someone! haha If Americans wanna express "Shame on so many levels. ", they would probably say "humiliating on so many levels." I guess! Best wishes.

Of course not! I have learned so many things from you! Plus, I am often quoting the words from your response when I write something to others!
If I accidently state the wrong information, I beg for your pardon!
I have never ever thought you will humiliate me anyway!
I just don't write exactly sometimes and I'm barking up the wrong tree altogether most of the times. haha, you know, there may be some misunderstanding.

Thank you for your kind words, Hiddenwing. You are correct in that it is not in my nature to deliberately humiliate anyone. I can get off on the wrong track, though. A misplaced comma can change the meaning of a sentence. It could even result in a jail sentence.

How does the mountain-climber know he can climb the mountain; simple, he simply asks himself, "Am I Willing to Make it to the Next Ledge?"

The Next Ledge for a writer is the next 'section' of your writing (essay, report, story, script), the height-&-steepness of the climb is 'what you have to write about' & 'who you have to write it to' (for example: if I were writing this to grammar-students, I would've called the height-&-steepness 'the thing about which you are writing' & 'the readers to whom you have to write' lol )

But studying the evolution of language (& that's a little more than just 'being a big fan of Lady Marina "HotForWords" Orlova, Ph.D.), you find out that language evolved from people expressing opinions-&-facts to each other---not 'nerdy teachers sitting around defining grammar-rules' ... the grammar-rules are 'more like guidelines' from the way a community communicates.

I would disagree with "some philosopher" there, but--on thinking about it--I would agree if he remembered that 'some reasons are beyond all human perception' (i.e. yes, everything HAS a reason; but that doesn't mean that anybody has to know it!)

I'm not exactly a 'student', but I AM 'educated' (if a root of that word is 'self-discovering' w00t ). I know the truth - "that it's humanity's job to find the truth." blink lol

But to answer your original question (says my ancestor MythMan reborn in me ): the same way you learn to speak English better and better; write to your English-writing friends and help them understand what you're trying to say!
