Because he stole Cookie Moster
It seems that when Iraq invaded Kuwait back in the 1990's that the troops took Cookie Monster and a camel muppet as POW's.
The article talks mostly about how Sesame Street helps teach children around the world about diplomacy. So to make this an actual discussion about politics, do you think that Sesame street should teach the basics of politics and diplomacy? Or would you rather your children not to learn about those things and just be your carbon copy? One, last question, think we will ever find Cookie Monster and the camel and return them to their rightful owners?

I'd beg them, take Oscar the grouch, but god please no, don't take the cookie monster! But on a serious note, I read the article and I think its a great idea, that part of the world is certainly dangerously divided, and Sesame Street is the perfect way to reach young children and teach them to be tolerant, and I love how they are proposing to address individual issues that the boys of families have, this is a step in the positive direction and its wonderful that its Sesame Street doing it because it is something that so many from other nations can identify with, I mean, who doesn't love Sesame Street?

Wasn't that the funniest thing? A country invades another country with great wealth and they steal muppets! Big bad soldiers walking around carrying Cookie LOL
I think it's great as well that Sesame Street is able to help so many children learn not only their ABC's.

Why not have Plaza Sesemo, that's Spanish for Sesame Street teach kids about politics and diplomacy. Disney channel is teaching kids that they are destroying the earth by discarding empty plastic bottles and that isn't going to do anybody any good to be scolded. If Sesame Street can do it in a way like School House Rock did them I'm all for it. Sure we'll find Cookie Monster, he'll be skinny from eating veggies instead of cookies.

I loved the "I'm just a bill" School House Rock. It was on all the time when I was little and of course I had no idea what the heck the newspaper was talking about (I thought the "bill" was really a newspaper lol).
LOL Don't they have cookies in Iraq? I don't know how many of my army friends have survived over there without their Girl Scout Cookies.

I was not making fun of Saddam. I was trying to have a fun discussion about a war that the US is in that a lot of us do not agree with and that thousands of US troops have lost their lives over.
