I'm sure that the majority of you have probably never heard of Jasper, Alabama, which is my hometown. There are a few famous people from here, though. You have probably heard of "George Smith Lindsay". If the name doesn't ring a bell, he is a comedian and he played "Goober" on "The Andy Griffith Show" for many years. He also played on "Hee Haw",which was a country music show that also featured a lot of hayseed humor out of Nashville, Tennessee. He is from here. If you watched any of these shows very much, I'm sure you heard him talk about Jasper quite a bit. He was talking about Jasper, Alabama. George also went to high school with my brother. Also, Tallulah Bankhead was from here. She is an old actress who was in a lot of old movies. She died in 1964. I think that's right. She's been dead a long time, anyway. She was well known for calling everybody "dahling!" Her daddy, "William Bankhead", was a United States Senator. Before my family and I moved into the house where I live now, we lived down the street from the house where Tallulah grew up. It's a big house and very pretty! Very antebellum! Another famous person who lived here for a short time is "Sandy Posey". She was a singer, popular in the '60s. If you were a teenager in that era, you might remember her. You might still remember her if you were not a teenager in that era, lol. She had hits with songs like "Born A Woman", "Single Girl", "I Take It Back", to name a few. You can check her out on youtube. The last I heard, she is either living in Memphis or Nashville. I don't remember which. Are there any famous people from your hometown?

Now that you live in Las Vegas, I'm sure a lot of famous people came from there. Are you originally from Salt Lake City? I thought you might be since you thought he was from there. I used to enjoy The Osmonds very much. I used to watch "The Donnie & Marie" show every week. That was so good! Thank you for responding and have a good night. Kathy.

Hi anniefannie! I never have heard of Ned Ray McWheater. I remember Winfred Dunn, though. I went to David Lipscomb University and he was in office when I was there. It was David Lipscomb College when I was there and that was back in the '70s. I didn't graduate, though. I learned about a lot of small towns when I was at Lipscomb but I don't think I ever heard of Palmersville. I looked it up on the map and I noticed it was near Dunlap. I remember Dunlap, Tennessee.. I didn't see any big cities near it. What's the nearest big city to Palmersville? Do you know? Kathy.

How about notorious people? Yes, most of the places I've lived have at one time or another been the homes of a few well-known people, but if I said who they are, then you might figure out who and where I am and I'd prefer to remain anonymous.

I bet youall are not, either. I looked up Martin, Tennessee on youtube not too long ago and it looks like a nice little town. Whoever made this video went to Walmart there and talked to one of the cashiers. One lady (I don't remember who she was) talked about it being a nice little farming community. I will have to watch it again and catch these people's names. Then I will ask you if you know them. It sounds like my kind of town. Kathy.
