It's Very Irritating When I Respond To A Discussion..........  

Ugh, I agree with you. I hate being thanked for my responses! I mean, it's nice that people are polite and appreciate that I took the time to reply, but I wanna debate about the topic. When I respond to people's comments in my discussions, I always try to say something substantial, try to relate to what they're saying. People rarely, if ever, come back to discuss it more, though.

You are right, I have seen this on some of my responses, and that make me think didn't read my discussions, sometimes you put alot of hard work, into posting a disacussion, and they give you back just, a few simple words, when they should have given you a lot more than that, some people here just don't want, to be bother with answering anyone back, sad but true.

Hello Taripres. Perhaps language barriers sometimes contribute to the habit, but I've noticed, too, that some discussions started have that same one-liner running after each and every response. I do go back to check all responses I get, but what is there to say if the response is thanks? Um...you're welcome. Hence, end of discussion.

That is what the MyLot rules mean in the part that says do not say thank you to every comment. It's not that you shouldn't, but that you should say MORE than that. One-liners not only end the conversation, but they yield little in the way of money earned here.

I agree with you on that one.

In my case it goes back to my discussion about the procrastination lol. I'm just lazy at times.

But i've noticed in discussions that ppl have said that they don't bother to write alot, or in some cases don't even write anything at all, for the simple fact tahat we don't get any extra earnings for thanking people for commenting, or holding converstions with someone on our discussions.

Personally i don't care about the earnings, I post on here cause I like this site, and since I'm a polite and friendly person, when someone comments on my posts, I try my best to thank them. There's been tiimes I haven't said much more than "thank you" or "i agree' but that's only because it was a day when I was in a bad mood and just wanted to thank the person, or just couldn't think of anything to say

I don't mind seeing a thank you...so long as it is included with a few lines recognizing the fact that i responded to their discussion. I will admit, that sometimes when i get many reponses that all say pretty much the same thing, it does get difficult to come up with an original answer for each one, but i do try! If i can't repond back easily to something they wrote, as they didn't give much info..i like to ask questions back, asking WHY they feel this way....or if they have experienced this before. Many people never come back and answer my questions, but the few who do, i value and try to rmemer to add to my friends list if they aren't there already, as they have shown that they obviously know what a discussion is!

I get the " Thanks for responding " thing all the time, mostly when it's a controversial topic & they're afraid to debate me. I guess because I give them the impression that they're staring down the barrels of a battleship they don't have the nerve to follow up... They just posted it in order to get replies anyways.

I have to agree with everyone else who has replied to this discussion. I know it is good manners to say thank you and everything but it would be nice for discussions to go on a bit longer- when you say thank you and nothing else it just kills it stone dead. I do not care about the earnings side of things that much either. I am not going to get rich posting on here but it is very interesting to hear other people's points of view about things from all over the world.

When i respond to peoples discussions sometimes you do not get even a thank you and alot of the time i am not worried,as i think there are alot of people out there that are doing alot of the responding and do not get the chance to keep replying to the responses they get.I try to come on here when ever i can as this is what i call my time as i have six children so i am sorry if i have at anytime not even had the chance to even say thanks for your response but at least i do respond.I start the discussions as well as replt to discussions and i even give a best response to them when i get a few mins free.I am usually happy enough to get a response and am happy to give a response but i do not always find the time.

I totally agree with you. I think MyLot doesn't even really count those answers for those people as an actual post. If you can't think of anything to say why bother saying it as it doesn't count as a post? Perhaps they don't know what else to say but want to respond? I dunno I'm grasping @ straws on that one maybe??
