I love when the kids prove me wrong!!!  

Yes me too! Sometimes my son really surprises me with the little things he does for me and I always end up feeling a bit guilty that I hadn't thought more highly of him.

For example I'm not well and often wish he'd help me more. Sometimes when I'm in a negative mood I assume that he doesn't care that I'm ill, but once I hurt my back and was in pain. I moaned about it and he wandered off and came back with a hot water bottle for me! I almost melted with pride and gratitude.

Isn't it wonderful!

We went to the St. Louis Zoo yesterday. Four kids aged 10, 5, 4 and 6 months. We had to drive four hours to get there...and the day was hot and muggy. We walked and walked and walked...but all four were patient and compliant with requests to wait for 'their' favorite activity or exhibit. Even the baby was patient in waiting for a 'good' time to nurse. I was very proud of their behavior. I also was very proud that they said 'thank you gramma' often.

The sting ray exhibit was interactive...we got to actually pet them as the swam by. It was my favorite exhibit after the sea lion show! And we indulged in White Castle afterwards on the trip home!

And a good time was had by ALL. Even gramma!

Good for him and good for you!! I bet he had alot of fun going with.....

You did both of yourselves a favor by giving him a heads up to behave. It was a good day and that will make a great memory for the two of you.

OH man, nothing makes me happier than when I think my boys gonna be a ring tailed tooter and he acts like a semi-angel instead. He's rarely an angel but he hits semi-angel more regularly! LOL! I LOVE those times...just simply the best................ahhhhhhhh

I like kids ver much. And i enjoy their kiddish talks and humour.

Aww well done Carey! I expect it was something different for him too, hasn't he ever asked to go when you only take the girls to the cat rescue? It was great that he helped out and lasted all day before getting a teensy bit bored.

Little ones often have rather short attention span, it's great that he enjoyed this visit long enough to no get antsy.

Once explained before hand they usually will do well in the environment you put them in. Has he gone back since?
