One of the habits i detest is biting nails. My daughter has this bad habit right from her childhood. We have tried all tricks and touts but this habit of hers come under the heading - Old habits die hard. Now she is married and had a kid but still the habit prevails. I am afraid the young child may also learn this habit. Some elderly people whom i know still have this habit and it is disgusting as we cannot rebuke them. You will be amazed to know that there is a family where all the family members have the habit of nail biting.LOL:) Share you views with me. Happy mylotting.

LOL.. shame to admit but I also have that bad habit.. It started when I was a child and my auntie always hit my hand whenever she sees me biting my nails.. But still it's useless.. Until now that I had a child, it's totally shameful.. I tried everything to avoid this, but nothing happened.. LOL.. I don't know, maybe the way I'm thinking is to remedy the nails, I think going to the nail parlor is the best way..

Now that you are old enough to understand that nail biting spoils your nails you can make a resolution saying i should have pretty nails. Colour your nails of your choice and see how nice it looks. Once you get the determination to stop the habit you can do it. Welcome to mylot and happy mylotting.

Hello, Yes you are very correct. Nail biting is very bad habit which one acquires in childhood and which is very difficult to be got rid off. The nails of those who bite them lose their shape and look very odd. If the elders in the family have this habit naturally the little ones also will follow it. It needs will power to get rid this. Luckily none in our family has this habit Happy mylotting

I don't have the habit of biting nails, but one of my cousin has the habit. She is 27 years old, but still bite nails. I have heard that this habit forms in kids if they won't get the chance to have a good amount of their mother's milk. I don't know whether it is proved scientifically. Have you heard about it?

May be you detest the habit because you are not a nail biter! People who generally don't have the habit think it is bad. I'm a nail biter and believe me it is very addictive - and i have whole of my sympathy to your dughter because i know what t is to be a nail biter! Have you spoken to your daughter of her habit? Or did you peek into the mental/physical/emotional stress she is going through? Or probably you should look back at her childhood and see if she has had a stressful incident that has instilled some fear/phobia in her. Anyway, i like biting my nails than eating others brains

Thank god that I do not have this habit and no one in my family also. It is high time that your daughter stops this habit or else her kid may also develop it looking at her. Yes it is highly irritating sometimes to see old people doing so in public.
