Internet to be shut down by 2012!!!

i just read a post in another forum that shocked the cudee right out of me!!! You know how cable companies-----limit you to watch you can watch for FREE...that is what the Internet companies are working on to limit our Internet access....so ones like this and various other money making sites we will have to PAY to access. The government and all keeps raising our electric bill so why wouldn't they do this, knowing that the USA is in direstraits/recession now? How can people be able to afford this and keep earning extra for food and what not.

I would had to see this happen!!! what about the ones that take schooling online? or even just checking our mail online?
What is your take on this situation....

Ha! I just thought of that as I was submitting my reply and came back to add it but you beat me to it. Nobody would care how much the internet costs then, will they?

oh yea, i hear it alot from my step-father and some churches really go all out on this subject. that is all in another post in itself....

i don't know, I have mixed feelings on this one, I could see it happening...look at what they did with cable....you have to pay for extra for certain channels, they keep trying to find ways for us to pay more and get less anymore. I wouldn't want it to happen, but companies get greedy and especially with the economy the way it is, they would do anything to get more money...in their pockets.

We already pay for it with monthly service bills. I guess a lot of us are going to be without the internet! I certainly can't afford to pay any more than I'm paying now. myLot and 1/4 of my writing income pays my internet bill so I'm financially ahead but if they charge any more I'm out of luck.

I know what you mean, I am trying to earn money to help with the household and other expenses online and if we have to pay for these sites, it won't be worth it. I hope they don't "think" about doing this, but anymore nothing surprises me and i won't put anything past the government.
