a yo-yo day

I can't say that I've had days quite as bad as yours, but yes I did have days that started out well & ended badly. Just last week the day started out pretty good & then I got a phone call from my sister saying that my Mom was being rushed to the hospital & it didn't look good. She's been in a nursing home & she hadn't been eating because of a problem thats been going on with her throat. So my husband took off of work & we rush off to visit her at the hospital. She's better now, but she gave us all the scare of our lives.

Actually 2004 was like that, but more down than up. We all have days and years like that. I feel like I'm in the eye of the hurricane right now myself...

I'm so sorry about your grandma but very happy for baby.

I've had a couple years like that. My days don't tend to yo-yo so much as my life does. I was divorced at the end of 2006 and that was very stressful and sad for me and my sons. Then I moved back to my home state, 1800 miles away from my grown sons and that was great until I realized that I might be back home but my sons weren't here! That same year, 2007, my mom fell and broke her pelvis in the summer and at the end of that year I lost my oldest brother. I grieved all alone since mom was back west where my brother had lived and she stayed with my other brother to help him with things.

Things went a bit more smoothly with minor bumps till the end of 2008 when I lost my temp to hire job. No work here. Now my ex is taking me back to court to reduce his court-ordered financial responsibility to me since I spent nearly 20 years exclusively taking care of him and the children. And I found out I'm clinically depressed but can't afford any medication for it. I'm in a clinical trial but when that's done, I'm on my own.

Whew! That looks like a lot and I wish I hadn't thought about it! But I have yo-yo years rather than days.

I wish you more even-tempered days!

Lately...yea...lately....not fun. Crying...not crying....friends making me laugh......then alone, later, crying.........

Now you know why I'm on here so much. I can't wait for my son's nap time each day. LOL!

I have had a lot of those days also. It seems like it is just one thing after another. I am ready for some peace and quiet, with nothing bad happening.

Life is full of the unexpected and you just hope that the good things outweigh the bad overall. We are all destined to die at some point and as I am well passed halfway now, it could be anytime soon. Now I am starting to depress myself, I still haven't done that '50 things to do before you die':(

I don't have pets as I know that unless you have a tortoise, they are going to die fairly soon and I have watched my mother mourning so many times during my life I can't understand the need to have pets. I guess when they are here they more than make up for it in affection. Of course 3 months is not the usual lifespan of a dog, so I hope he lives at least another 10, but don't put a date in your diary for when you should start worrying. Just enjoy! The licks the chasing of his tail, the daftness of dogs.

Your niece is a worry. She is a long way from the usual safety term (is it 26 weeks?) and it is good news to hear she is going to be fine. I think procreation is a miracle. I don't believe in god, but it is something of wonderment to realise how babies are made and the joy when they are born. Truly a miracle.

Sorry to hear about your Gam. Like I said earlier, it is one guarantee in life. I just hope she went out with dignity and enjoyed her life. It's a long time since any of my grandparents were alive and I particularly miss one grandma who was like a second mother to me as I was growing up. She was the best and I was devastated when she died, but it was a blessing because she was old and suffering. I look back at the good things and smile when I think about her. She was a fantastic person. I hope you too can look back with fond memories of your Gam.

As for my yo-yo. Well it used to go up and down no problem. Then it started to hit the bottom and spin for a while but not come back up. Would you just call that a yo?

As I get older I prefer less excitement in my life, I can't cope. A little ripple now and again is fine, but wild swings of emotion? No. Can't we all just live forever without hurt? Now that would be a miracle!

Sorry about your Gram, Chimes it is a shame. You have had one heck of a day haven’t you? You are not alone, I’ve been there and done that too, in fact I have been up and down on a daily basis for what seems like ages now, from sick kitties to sick children to visiting relatives. One minute I am crying my eyes out and the next I am laughing hysterically. Friends keep telling me that it will pass but it seems one thing after another and not all of it is good and now I have a darn toothache to contend with!

So very sorry to hear of your Grandma's passing, TLC. Life is hard to deal with as it is without all the roller coaster rides.

We've been walking the same crazy twisted path for many years with a whole lotta bumps and bruises to show for it. I've since met some wild friends on here that have for the most part, grounded me from my roaming mind.
