LOL....ok, I know strange discussion but I was curious if I am the only one to do this... I precook my bacon. We went shopping last week and since I was really busy this past weekend we ended up eating out alot due to the heat and the fact that I was outside most of the weekend... so yesterday morning I woke up and pulled out the bacon that I bought last week and cooked up the whole package...of course we had BLT sandwhiches but I cooked it all up at once and put the rest in a bag in the fridge, this way now it is done, cooked and the mess is already cleaned up!! Now when I want bacon, I just have to either add it to my salad, or sandwhiches, or put it in a napkin and heat it for like 10 seconds in the microwave.... done for the week!! have you done this.. will you start doing this now since I suggested it?? What bacon is your favorite?? I prefer turkey bacon my self... less fat and not so rubbery...

Thanks for sharing! It sounds a good way of sorting bacon problem in the fridge. In fact, none of our food stays long in fridge since we eat them within a week. We have more trouble to buy enough food for a week. :P What is turkey bacon?? I thought bacon is only made from pigs???

I started doing this because we would cook it when we wanted it and leave the rest .... and a month would go by and I would end up throwing it out because it went bad... after we forgot about it!! so I started cooking it up all at once, and then it is gone in the first week...and I dont have to think about the mess it will make when I am cooking it later in the week... and I dont forget about it as it gets eaten much faster!! LOL Turkey bacon is not made from pig... it is actually a turkey product... which is nice because there is much less fat (less messy when cooking), healthier choice in having bacon, and it always cooks up crispy!! It would be in your grocery section same as regular bacon, just less fat. thanks for the response and happy mylotting.

Haha, cooked food does get eaten quicker than raw ones. I always start with leftovers before heading towards my frozen chicken. :P I never see turkey bacon in my supermarket! I mean, at least not in Britain. I bet it would be very popular for English breakfast if people could find it for sale!

yes!! I found this out... I end up throwing out to much food (uncooked) because it goes bad and we forgot it was in there... so now on the rare occasion that we do buy bacon I precook the whole package and then it is gone in the first week... no need to waste money on food that is going go bad and get thrown away!!

Unless I have been extremely busy I have not done this......and I don't eat enough bacon to do it in the future.....I do love bacon but when I found out I shouldn't be eating it I only have it on a very rare ocassion....but it's a good suggestion!

yes, we dont have it as often, and that is how I learned over the years that if we do get it --I dont want to have to cook it-- and then a month later we end up throwing out the food gone bad... so I have learned that when we do get it... precook it and then it gets eaten... and I really enjoy the fact of turkey bacon, I feel better about eating that since it is leaner and less fat. thanks for the response and have a great day!

I have recently just started doing this but am enjoying it very much. Since it's just me to cook for i have started cooking up quite abit of bacon at one time. Like u say u get the mess cleaned up once instead of a bunch of times a week. When i cook breakfast the next time & want bacon i just take whatever i want out of the fridge & either make an omelette or scrambled ehhs & put the bacon in the eggs as they are cooing, pretty tasty.
