WHY SUPERMAN wearing UNDERPANTS OUTSIDE?

Maybe that is the style on the planet where he was born.

I guess when he was changing in the phone booth he was in such a hurry and put them on outside his uniform and never noticed.

Hope this time your kids didn't put up this question right?. .. I think its a different design which the designer tried something innovative. He must have thought something should reach kids and people...

But I think its not awful.. Its really a good character design in a movie..

That is a very good question. When superman movies were popular, many people wore suits to the gym and for exercise made out of that same stretchy material, and they too wore underpants on the outside. The material was so close fitting to the skin, underpants on the inside might have looked odd or bulky, so they wore them on the outside. Just my ideas:)

I guess he needs tight pants so they don't come off when he's flying at highspeed to outer space. And maybe he likes looking at his underpants

Well i think because he is always on a rush and somebody needs his help so because he is in a rush, he forgot to wear his underpants first.

Well, i think its just not Superman but also Batman and Robin. So i think its not because of where Superman was born. I think its like a fashion trend because they are acutally all wearing a very fitting costumes and it would really look ugly if they would be wearing their underpants inside because their waste like would look loose. Could you just imagine someone wearing a very fitting costume with loose wasteline? I think that would look more funny maybe that is why they wear it outside. hehe:P

I have alway's figured they put those tight under pant's on him so they wouldn't fall off when he was flying, he has the other tight's on underneath. I guess it's there to keep the tight's on.

Hi advokatku.it's fun topic.Let me guest,maybe because Superman forget to wear it inside before he wear his clothes,So he must wear outside.You know that it difficult to open his clothes again.it too close/fitting.he..he..he..Am I right?

If you Google this question, there are a lot of funny answers out there:

I'm just going to guess that the original artist back in the 1930's wanted to come up with something totally different than "Earthly" styles and that's what he came up with!
