It creates chaos and distrust.

Perhaps if our news networks did not have to compete for rating/profits,
there would be limited broadcasts on explosions/violence and other terrorism.
Perhaps only the concerned people will be informed locally so that the whole country, in general is not partially paralyzed causing all kinds of damage to national efforts...
There are probably many angles to view this...
