This excerpt from an article by Bruce Walker explains that there really isn't a Far Right like the media would like us to believe. His book Sinistrism/Secular Religion of the Lie is highly recommended by ME.
For years in my articles, I would simply refer to our self-defined "Left" as "Nazis, Bolsheviks, Fascists, and other radical Leftists" and refer to the rest of us as "conservatives and other normal people." In my 2006 book I go much further: the whole ideological spectrum itself is a myth, a construction of those we typically call "Leftists" who really just yearn for power and for the destruction of Judeo-Christian moral systems. The Nazis routinely condemned the "Right" (whatever that is supposed to be) and capitalists. The very term "Third Reich" was coined by Moeller before the Nazis came to power and it was intended to describe a path which rejected Capitalism and supported a socialist foreign policy. What was true of the Nazis is true of virtually every other incarnation of the so-called "Far Right" everywhere in the world.

The Far Left is Oligarchy... which can include Fascism and is always Totalitarian.
Socialism and Communism is the most common example of these.
The Far Right is no government at all... That is called Anarchy, which is an absence of government.
To the Leftists, anyone to the Right of their ideology is considered a Right Wing Extremist.

The books premis is that both the far left and the far right have the same objectives...evil control of the people. He goes on to say that their tactics are the same and their basis is The Lie....that through human efforts mankind can become gods and human rule, either over the collective or over themselves individually, can bring UTOPIA to the world.

And a Nationalist is?
someone who feels their nation is the best? Does anyone know exactly what nationalism is? I tend to think of it as worshipping the nation. So then what is patriotism?
Is there an ism dictionary out there?

Yes, they were. How did I say otherwise. And I don't see Obama's name up there anywhere.
My mother's beloved step father lost his entire family to the Nazis.
The point is...you discuss what happened so as to keep people informed, so it doesn't happen again.
Sorry for your loss. And no offense intended.

ok debra, i was getting annoyed with others, perhaps not you though, comparing obama to hitlet. i'm not that old that my parents would have been killed by the nazis - they were very small kids at the time of the 2nd world war - but because of our origins if we had lived in germany they would have, . as indeed would obama.

jb..it is not so much that I think Obama is the same as HItler. He is a narcissist just like Hitler, but as of yet he hasn't rounded us all up and put us in camps, yet.
There is the POTENTIAL for him to become like Hitler. His attitude and his demeanor are eeriely the same. And that whole report 'fishy' email things alarmed me greatly! It is because of my immigrant parents and hearing them talk as I grew up...that makes me see this similarity. It is because I grew up hearing of the atrocities and hearing of how those kinds of thngs would NEVER happen in America....that make me ANGRY when I see the beginnings of it here. I'm sure you understand the saying...those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it! The people of Europe were looking for a savior...someone to keep them safe and secure. They invited this man who could speak like no other...to save them. History IS repeating itself. They didn't get alarmed when they saw the camps go up...cause after all, THEY wouldn't be put in them, they were on the RIGHT side. It's time we all woke up JB....and open our eyes.
What I, and the others are saying is we know history...and it seems to be repeating itself. And we are ANGRY.

There is a lot of truth to that article. All prominent former Klan members were Democrats. The Klan was always strongest in predominantly Democrat states. The Klan didn't confine itself to attacks and intimidation of Black people, Republicans were also targeted.
Many would consider groups like Rev. Phelps' church "far right extremists". However, they would be wrong. None of the tactics or "doctrines" that define them are about personal freedom, strict constructionist adherence to the US Constitution, limted government or fiscal responsibility.
Some people even think that conservatism supports the concept of theocracies.. which again is competely false.

If a lie is repeated until it is believed, it is still a lie.
Mr. Walker does not focus in on our present administration, rather investigates the last century of politics and culture wars. He shows how when whole pieces of information are left out or twisted in the history books...the people's perception of what actually happened is twisted.
He shows how, in many ways, this was done concerning WWI and WWII...and the events leading up to them.
