I'm looking at Storm Pulse [http://www.stormpulse.com/] and their saying Hurricane Bill is now a Category 2 after going over Bermuda with wind speeds up to 100mph and all I can think is man, I wish I could be at the beach. The hurricane is off the coast of us but turning away now but I imagine we'll get our share of rain. The last time we had a hurricane come close I remember big gusts of wind that came and went, even had a big branch fall right in front of us on the road and the rain was very fine but steady. I think it'll be fun to take the girls outside in their rain coats (away from the trees though) and let them splash around. What do you expect to get from Hurricane Bill?

Yea, I was walking back from the grocery store right down the street with my girls and when coming back these dark dark clouds started coming to the west of us and we got this really cold gust of wind it was weird because right before then it was soo hot. It split up into two storms where the first storm was pretty abrupt and didn't last long then the second storm was full of lightening and thunder and scared the kids. Then later on that night we were done at the movie theater (watching Ponyo ) and it was pouring soo hard! I remembered they said earlier their could be some flash floods and I was just crossing my fingers we didn't get flooded into the movie theater it was pouring so hard. But it stopped (about 20 mins we waited) and we went home.

I'm in the Midwest and we might get some precipitation from Bill but I don't think we'll get anything else. I just hope we don't get a repeat of Ike last September, who sent his 90MPH winds up here and stole my electricity for 4 days--and all the food in my freezer! Be careful with your girls. I don't know how old they are, but a stiff gust of wind can knock a child down. It's good for them to see what weather can do and opens the door to your explaining why the weather is so wild.
