How do you clean your LCD/TFT screen?

I think you should dilute colin and then use it coz as far as i know it is an alcoholic solution and we shouldn't use such ones for cleaning the screens... yeah i know which cloth you are talking about, it came along with laptop when i bought it...

Just use a soft material and never let dust to cover the LCD display. Believe me, you don't need to use "special" solutions. I work with LCD monitors, laptops, LCD TV and other LCD display products and I never used special solutions. Just a soft material and daily clean. Good luck!

Well, you can use any soft cloth, but beware. It should not leave thread marks. Then, the other should not leave scratch marks on your precious and lovely laptop.

Hmm i think a proper dedicated cleaning liquid would be better to use than mild soap i guess... may be i should invest some money for that liquid.... yeah i do sometimes use water moist fine cloth, the only thing that remains are those small patches of irritating stains:-x

yeah they do have some stuff for cleaning the monitor screens and it is quiet costly, but hey watch out, try not using alcohol based cleaning liquids for your sensitive monitor screens...

Hey Shames I have been to computer city and there they had some special liquid for cleaning monitor screens, it was costly so on a second thought i didn't buy that, now i feel like i should have had that thing, anyways... my screen is now too dirty for me to put that screen guard that you are talking about, it should have been put up the very first time i got my laptop, i.e. around 2 years back.

that is what i am warning others here, not to use alcohol for the sensitive screens and you are doing just that, you can clean glasses but LCD! you shouldn't be doing it though.. anyhow i would not do that... even if diluted... take care kitty..... something i should warn you about... anyways have a nice day kitty and do take care...

I told you my brother did not agree when I told him , I will stop from this day forward, I can't use a dirty computer it drives me nuts, when I am at my brothers house I want to clean his computer so bad, but I don't, his friend said alcohol you can't do that, I guess we will have to figure out another way to keep this clean, what does the alcohol do? should I expect something to happen to the screen, so far I see no difference. I will keep my eye on this discussion hopefully I will learn something, quick since my grandson is back, I will need to clean this thing again real soon. Thanks my friend.

Well i too don't know what exactly might take place if those tiny little screen pixels of yours meet the alcohol, but certainly something many people recommend not to use for cleaning the computer screens... it's ok if nothing has happened already, may be you are lucky.... anyways you get a special dedicated liquid for cleaning your screen you might want to check up at your local computer shops, i am sure they would keep such things, and yeah use a soft cloth too, similar to the ones for the spectacles... so take care

I will never touch the stuff again, I do have a few extra cloths from the glasses so I will keep one just to wipe it when needed,hopefully we won't need any solutions right now, I would go nuts if I were unable to use the computer due to something as silly as cleaning it with the wrong thing,em]angry[/em],

Hmm i have to say you might have been doing that regularly from the start itself right... well not me... and now i have got some small irritating patches of stain and i don't like them at all... your idea is good if you are doing that from the start.
