Obama's Rating at an All Time Low!

United States
August 23, 2009 9:44am CST
My goodness what could have caused his numbers to drop so much?? Any ideas??? The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14. These figures mark the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President. The previous low of -12 was reached on July 30 Prior to today, the number who Strongly Approved of the President’s performance had never fallen below 29%. Some of the decline has come from within the President’s own party. Just 49% of Democrats offer such a positive assessment of the President at this time. At the other end of the spectrum, today’s total for Strongly Disapprove matches the highest level yet recorded. The 41% mark was reached just once before and that came one week ago today. Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans now Strongly Disapprove along with 49% of those not affiliated with either major party. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

I think it is because people don't agree with his policies. He has also been caught lying too much.

I don't think Obama has lied to the people of USA. Just he was not lucky and experienced the economical crisis. It's very difficult to any president.People did not get what they want and they thought the president should take all responsibility for it. I think it’s not fair. If they really think Obama should take responsibility at least they should give him time to do the job well.

Some of it is party politics, we know that. Some of it is from the fear about his healthcare plans, which, even if they are good (which I doubt) have not been presented in a way that has a positive light. Some of it is because this recession keeps on pulling us all down. Some of it is because he is out of touch with us real people and some of it is jealousy over his vacation at Martha's Vineyard. He does not handle things well, so even if he had good ideas, he does not seem to be able to get them presented in a favorable light.

Hey it only took seven months for him to get the lowest rating in the history of our country as President.....Why isn't Congress talking about impeachment just for the fact that he is stupid......Hes the biggest dummy to every walk into the White House and it's time we took to writing letter by hand to everyone in Congress to start IMPEACHMENT........ Oh by they way I thought it was against the law to take our own lives....Oh Obama can do any thing he wants because he's THE PRESIDENT.........You don't have to asked He'll tell you in his next speach..

Who knows if we are lucky that still might happen although I am not too enthusiastic about having big mouthed Joe Biden as his replacement.

Of course I can only speak for myself, but I thought he was a mistake right from the beginning. People talked about Sarah Palin not having any experience, but she's a seasoned veteran compared to Obama's experience. I'm not sure if Obama has made certain decisions because of his inexperience and because he didn't think things out or look at the long term affects, or if he was very calculating. It's my opinion that the main problem with Obama is that too many are treating him not as a man who was elected president, but as some super human who can do no wrong, like he's a god. It's so out of proportion that no one can find fault with him without being accused of being racist. I know everyone has to start somewhere in order to gain the experience they need, but they shouldn't start at the top.

No, you also speak for me as well. From the first day he appeared on the political scene my gut feeling said that he was trouble.

I think people are starting to realize they elected an inexperienced young man who can't keep the promises he made. If they had listened to what he was saying rather than how well he said it, he might not have been elected.

You are so right. That is the danger of smooth talkers they usually are speaking with a forked tongue.

I think his percentages will continue to drop if he persists in persuing the health care bill, not to mention his actions----- American's know we can't pay our national debt now, why should be we forced into something the majority of Americans do not want. I'm not sure if he'll back up or not, but he's not winning any awards for all his big talk either. American's are not stupid and he's taking us to be that way. Not on my better day !

Sadly as voters many do not think things through but in the end we are not stupid and realize what a mistake was made.

I didn't vote for Obama in the first place and am more certain now than ever I made the right choice. The US is in deep trouble in my way of thinking. I am in a majority now ---wish I had been then before a lot of Americans voted -------- Wonder how many realize his travels cost us about two million every time he steps on a plane to visit small town America??? He's costing us now , what is he going to cost us in the next year??? Not to mention a full term??????? Americans better wake up and get in touch with they senators and congressmen and don't forget to write to medicare--- Wouldn't it make more sense to "bail out" medicare and medicaide and let's get Americans back on our feet??? And healthy too??? And, for crying out loud, why not get our people back to work ??? Get our soldiers home? I think Obama is more interested in a making a BIG name for himself rather than taking care of us the US people !!

The "hope" and "change" theme of the presidential campaign are only echoes now, and people are starting to look at realities. Employment is not picking up, inflation is still rising, private sector businesses are being nationalized at an alarming rate, etc., etc.,

i do not believe in such ratings as they are based on some people's biased opinions against the leadership of some people, i do believe that elections will say the best about Obama and not some organized public opinions which are born out of people's obsession with performance

I can give you a few examples of why I think his ratings are going down. Him and the Democrat party is telling everyone that HR 3200 will not fund abortions. The wording on this is vague. The Republicans (specifically Rep. Souder of Indiana) put forth Amendment 32 that specifically states that federal funding will not be used to fund abortions except in the case of danger to the life of the mother, rape, or incest. This amendments was defeated by the Democrats. The Democrats say it wont cover abortion and refuse to specifically spell that out. They instead call the Republicans liars for stating that abortions could be funded by taxpayers. If it won't be funded by taxpayers, why did they defeat that amendment? He has stated repeatedly that those making under $250,000 will not see any increase in taxes. This Health care reform bill is huge, and we have no way to pay for it right now. The Republicans (specifically Rep. McMorris-Rodgers of Washington) put forth amendment 25 that specifically states that there will be no tax increases on families making under $250,000 a year. The amendment was ruled not germane (meaning not relevant to the bill.) Now considering all the earmarks that get put on every other bill, and the fact this one can't be paid for unless they raise our taxes, how is it not relevant? But Republicans are called liars for saying will pay more taxes for it. Lastly (for this post, there are several more examples), this reform is supposed to provide the same quality of care/coverage that the FEHBP does (that's the coverage our Congressman get.) Rep. Heller from Nevada put forth an amendment within the Ways and Means committee that would require that all members of Congress drop their FEHBP and go under the new reform coverage. This was also defeated by the Democrats and never made it out of committee. Why don't they want it if it supposed to be THE SAME THING? So to summarize, I think his ratings are going down because he and the Democratic party are saying one thing, but their votes seem to be saying something else. (At least to those of us who take the time to research what they are doing and not blindly believe only what's coming from their mouth.)
