There were proposals in the Philippine Catholics to make former president Cory Aquino a saint after hear passing away. What are the basis of making someone a saint? Compared to Mother Theresa, she was a devoted servant of God all her life. What can you say about this Christians?

I'm really not in favor of making Cory Aquino a saint. I even have doubts in agreeing for her to be a national hero. But I guess it's just a proposal from the Bishops of the Philippines and it would have to be deliberated first before Vatican agrees to it.

If her life was exemplary and holy, why not. But as I understand it, it is not about someone "making" her a Saint. No one can. The proof of two scientifically validated miracles to get considered for sainthood will not be under anybody's control. Even a miracle will be much too much for mortals. Only God knows if he wants Cory to be canonized as a Saint.
