I'm in week 4 of my clinical trial for depression

Have you ever been part of a clinical trial? This one is a double blind study--nobody know who has the low dose, the high dose or the placebo. After the initial two screening interviews, I'm being paid $100 per visit so I'll be banking $400 dollars! Unfortunately, it will probably be going to my attorney to fight my ex for spousal support which is partially why I'm depressed.
Have you ever done a clinical trial? What kind of experience did you have?

Hi dragon54u, I'm so sorry that you have gone through all this. Saw this discussion and decided to answer it. I've never had a clinical trial before, but I remember feeling so deep in a rut before and feeling so suffocated. But I decide to make a U-turn and get out of the mess called depression for myself. Sometimes, blogging helps to ease the pain away, all those bad memories of the past. I believe everyone has their own black mark in life and to be able to get out of the cocooned shell of depression is important. I wish nothing but the best for your health and hopefully you'll be able to gain full strength of health soon. Take care yeah..

Hi, Zed! The trial is all over now and I'm hundreds of dollars richer. Better still, I feel a LOT better. Not because of whatever they gave me, but the interviews I had to do each week gave me some insight into a few of my worst problems. Seeing them objectively and recognizing them helped me come to terms with them. I'm better now than I have been in years!
Thank you so much for your good wishes and your concern.

I've had a very bad couple of years so I'd be surprised if I wasn't depressed! In the last 3 years my husband divorced me for another woman, I moved across the country, I lost one of my brothers, my mother and my dad were both in the hospital, I lost my job and now my ex is taking me to court to try to get his monthly obligation to me reduced. So I guess it's all caught up with me!

This is indeed a serious blow to any one in your position and hence your undergoing the medical trial is normal. My good will is with you. All the best.

I"ve never participated in a clinical trial. I wish you good luck that everything goes fine during the trial and you can pay for your attorney.

I hope so, too. I think I got the placebo. A few hundred will help but I've already paid him $4,000 and he's gone through half of that.
Divorce and the aftermath is very expensive, even if the divorce isn't what you wanted.

It turned out very well! I got to add $700 to my savings account and I also worked out some issues that I wasn't aware had been bothering me. I think I got the placebo but it doesn't matter because I got my head straightened out. It was a great experience! I wish I could find another trial, it certainly is good money and it did me a lot of good. Now if I could just find one for chronic back pain!

that is really sad. first this person becomes your ex and now doesn't support you financially. don't worry, problems do tend to go away when you face them. have a great day1 person likes this
