Has this ever happened to you?

Has there ever been a point where you've felt utterly and completely stupid and tongue-tied around your friends? I'm in that situation right now, and I have no idea why. With the rest of my friends, I'm able to relax and be myself, but with this one particular friend, I feel like everything I say is wrong or comes out wrong; I feel so ridiculously self-conscious, and in all honesty I shouldn't, because I've known him for several years now. Gah! Any thoughts?

Hi coolcoder, possibly you addressed yourself in a rude manner to them and they remain offended by the way you spoke to them. That would be my opinion on the matter, certainly there is no excuse for confrontational rudeness.

It's weird but I feel uncomfortable around my best friend who I've known for eight years. Today, I was out with her and another friend and found it hard to talk. What I found helps is if no one is around. When I'm with that friend I feel a little more self-conscious with, I try to find a more quiet place like the park to talk. I can be more like myself then. Or you could also try listening to some music. Talk to hear while you have one of your headphones in your ear and it'll be easier to speak. Good luck
