Smokers: Do you smoke in your bedroom? | | This year it will have been 12 years since I started smoking.
I used to smoke in my bedroom for the first 7 of those years, but in the past few years I've never smoked smoked in my bedroom.
My parents both smoke in their room at their house, and I hate sleeping in their room since it always smells musty and dirty, even though by all other accounts, their room is always very neat and clean.
I hate the smell of stale cigarette smoke first thing in the morning, and I noticed that it's really difficult to get the smell of cigarette smoke out of a mattress and duvets. I've aired them, steam cleaned the mattress, sprayed room spray and air freshener on them but even after 3 years, it still smells faintly. I don't think I'll ever smoke in my bedroom again, and I've never allowed anyone else to, either.
So what about the rest of the smokers on MyLot. Do you smoke in your bedroom? Or is it strictly a smoke-free zone, like mine?

His sheets were full of burn holes, as he would doze off and drop his ciggerette. One night, we were watching t.v. and I seen him do it. I was always worried he was going to start a fire. I don't know if he ever broke the habit, but I hope he did. Smoking is dangerous in the first place, but I think smoking it bad is a bad thing to do. Unless you'r sure not to fall asleep and you've put your ciggerette out completely before falling asleep. You don't want to wake up to a smoke and fire.

I always smoke in my bedroom. And I smoke there most of the time because I spend a lot of my time there in front of my laptop. But I always open the windows when I smoke. At least part of the smell will flow out from my room. It is bad actually because of the smell but I used to it already. I didn't smell something weird about it anymore. Maybe the non-smoker feel bad about it but no me.
Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

I was thinking about needing to get an entire new bed soemtime in the near future....but this post kinda brought to mind that maybe i should wait until after i quit smoking, because as you mentioned, that smell just lingers and lingers and won't go away. I think my old bed can hold out another year or so...as i have been saying for many years that when i turn 30,i am going to quit.

I had stopped smoking ciggs for good and then I started smoking these nasty little cigar thingys called Black & Mild that have Pipe Tabacco in them! Ewwww! They stink! Me an my boyfriend, who doesn't smoke at all bought a brand new High Definition TV that cost way too much money for me to smoke near so I won't dare smoke my nasty cigars near the tv! That is it! So no smoking in the bedroom near the new 26" high def tv! And I am sticking to it! Now I just need to stop smoking altogether! I did it with ciggs, now I need to do it with the stupid cigars!

Before I go to sleep at night I always smoke a cigarette and think about the events of the day, just to clear my head before going to sleep. I do keep the window open when the weather permits, hmmm I never really thought about the smell, you gave me something to think about.

I was always afraid of falling asleep and burning the place down. I agree smoke filled room is not the most appealing first thing in the morning. I have not had a cigarette since 1996 and I will never go back to it again. Needless to say there is No Smoking in my appartment or in my Van. Take Care.
