I was asked to post a discussion about foods to eat or foods not to eat during chemotherapy. During this time your immune system is affected when you recieve chemotherapy. So the most important thing is to eat a varied and balanced diet comprised of foods that will help you recover quickly. Here are some simple guidelines to follow. Try to eat protein at every meal. Protein-rich foods such as lean meat, low fat diary, beans, legumes, eggs, and nuts. Fruit and vegetables, high in antioxidants, will help your immune system. Remember the more colorful the fruit or vegetables, the better it is for you. Whole grain foods such as breads, cereals, rice, pasta, are also important. These foods are high in carbohydrates and provide energy for the body. Also try to drink 8 cups of water on a daily bases, to help flush the drug out of your system. Here is a list of foods to avoid during chemo. Hot or spicy foods, fatty, greasy, or fried foods, very seet, or sugary foods. These are some drinks to avoid before chemo and after. Coffee, strong tea, soda, and possibly chocolate. Use caution around milk products. Also try not to lay down right after eating. I hope this answers some questions about chemo. If you have anymore feel free to ask.

So sad that people have to undergo chemo! Did you know that this conventional cancer handling method destroys more good bacteria than the desired bad bacteria as well as weakens the immune system? The best and safest way to fighting any disease or illness is simply to fortify the body's natural defense system with proper nutrition. I have years in medical research and can help anyone get rid of almost any health condition! I strongly believe that there is no illness or disease that cannot be cured!

Stay away from chemo and radiation therapies: They destroy more good cells than they help get rid of the bad cells!

I know that but can you help us what to do. In the Philippines we have this alternative medicine wherein they will change the way you eat, all naturals, no taking of foods with chemicals. They'll teach you how to eat properly...Help please.Thanks.

Eat fresh fruits 30 minutes before each meal. Alkaline in fruits will fight against sickness inside our body. As much as possible get sleep 8-10 hours/day if you are under chemotherapy. Within 2-3 months you will be getting stronger everyday if you eat more carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables.

When I went through my treatments my doctors stressed that I make sure I ate food that was cooked. Uncooked foods like meat that medium rare carried bacteria that could do more harm. and Sugar. Sugar is like fuel for some cancers my doctors said, so i cute sugar out completely. Green Tea has a lot of antioxidants, and dark chocolate, I drank the tea and ate the chocolate and sure I dont think they "Cured" me but I think they helped me feel better and notbe sick all the time. Um Im trying to think of ones that did make me feel sick, yogart did; most milk products so I might stay away from them but drink a little milk for the calcium. My biggest thing was I wanted beef all the time,my parents joked that they would have a cow on the porch for me to cut a piece off when I got hungry. OH and sunny side up eggs I couldnt have, with the yoke in the middle (i call it dippy since you can dip bread in it) because it wasnt fully cooked.

Thank you for this useful information. Although I don't have a chemotherapy, this one is helpful for people who has. I will share this to my friend who has chemotherapy.
