"Free Speech is only allowed over there" |
|
Rep. Steve Kagin (D District 9) pulled about the lowest trick yet in the whole Town Hall Meeting Melee.
Kagin and his office spent a week dodging questions about whether he would show up to a meeting he'd been invited to at UW-Green Bay.
But local labor unions, teachers unions and other lefty organizations were informed that he would be at this "public event".
Outside there were people with signs for all sides of the issue, in a designated area. A few people tried to go into the hall with their signs, but were told that no signs were allowed in the meeting. They asked the campus police officers why their freedom of speech wasn't allowed in. They were told that "Free speech is only allowed over there". (pointing to the designated area).
Only selected people (all supporters) were allowed to enter the place before 5:30.
When the people entered, Pro Obamacare signs were handed out.
It turns out that it was paid for by the thugs at the AFL-CIO.
Thanks for your crooked arrogance, Kagan!

At both parties conventions last election both parties set up "free speech zones" but not even close to the actual convention. They have been using it against protesters for years now. Not just at the conventions. You are allowed free speech.....but only where they say you can have it at. Which is usally no where close to the event and where no one will see you (especially the media). I marginalizes anyone who does not agree with them. And marginalizes free speech.
Obma's town hall meetings are set up the same way. Only known supporters are allowed in and they are told what questions to ask. NO surprises allowed. It is completely scripted. Also sence the press covers the event it makes it look like "everyone" in that town supports him and his polices. Real questions from real people are not allowed. HEck "real" people are not even allowed in. Bush did some similar things. At his events only known republicans were allowed in. He did not force feed them the questions they asked but no one was allowed in that was not a supporters so that pretty well meant that only postitive comments and questions would be made. Obama just took it a step further. Does not surprise me about the tackets used at by Rep. Kagin. They want to put preasure on the people and the media to put as shiny of a picture on this whole mess as possible. My question is....what is so bad about reality and the truth that they have to hide it? Some people like the plan....some people don't. SOme people are undecided....but because they can't get in to the meetings to ask honest questions they don't get answers. Therefore how are they suppost to make an honest decision? We are being force feed what they want us to know and hear. So that we come to the decision THEY want. Simple as that. Your average citizen is getting left out of the loop either way.
Oh and you can bet they are going to us poor old dead Ted Kennedy to help get it passed. The whole "We need to pass this for him. As part of a tribute to his legacy." yada yada yada. Play on peoples emotions and sympathys.

sndcain36 (2667) | 4 months ago | So I'm supposed to let the government take over my healthcare as a tribute to a man I hated? LOL...of course. Liberal logic works exactly like that.
Kennedy was a big part of what is wrong with this country; him being out of politics for good is cause for celebration....

lilwonders456 (1930) | 4 months ago | Yep they are exactly counting that. For the sake of the poor dead senator let gov take over your healthcare and tax you more. Not a lot of common sense in that. But then when have most politicans used common sense.
I agree....Ted Kennedy was a poilitican. Not a statesmen. He was so far in lobbyist and special interests pockets it was not even funny. Plus he was all about the cronism and the big boy club. The Kennedy's want to act like the "royal family" of america....but you want to know how they made their money? Boot legging. Yep making and selling alcohol when it was illegal. That is the eqivant to a modern day drug dealer. They are better than the rest. Only thing they think are better than everyone else and above the law.

Kowgirl (2458) | 4 months ago | Once more, when it is time to vote, some people will get the "I want to be on the winners side" children mentality and vote for the person the media will claim to be the winner. If they had stopped to study the man or woman and the issues of who is running we wouldn't be in the mess we are in today. Then some just voted for Obama because he claims to be "black"...Don't see how his skin color could influence so many smart people but it did. As for freedom we are having it taken away from us a piece at a time. "We the people" gave up our rights when we failed to defend our Constitution.
