I just recently have come to stay in New Orleans for a short time. I found out that down here they use chicory in their coffee. I do not care for the taste of chicory in my coffee. Why mess up an already perfect taste!
So.. have you ever tried coffee with chicory? Do you like or dislike it?

Here in southern Louisiana chicory is a given in coffee. You may even hae to ask for coffee without chicory specifically. I haven't ever cared for chicory myself. I don't know why. Maybe I should try it again while I am here as it's been a long time and I know our tastebuds change over time!
Thanks for the response!

I hear you on that! You are absolutely right that we ll have different tastes. I just hope no one wants to me appreciate their flavors too!

Hi macdlingolinger, I remember in my university days there was a jar of some disgusting coffee mix sold which on reflection was some type of nasty instant powdered coffee, bearing as much resemblance to actual coffee as the large amout of chicory mixed into it. I can't for the life of me remember the name and certainly haven't come across it since, it was probably marketed towards broke students. I do remember it was foul even though at that stage I wasn't any kind of coffee drinker.

I haven't tried it in years, but I do remember the "foul" taste! I just recall that it was nasty!!! I do plan on avoiding it while I am here!!
