The laptop screen has gone pink, I can't see it. This happened last year gradually, this morning it is just pink. Last time the computer man said it wasn't worth fixing as very expensive then it righted itself and he put it down to a loose connection. It's been ok since but now it's pink today. I've turned it on and off a few times and I had a few minutes of white before it went pink again.
I don't understand technical so any help please simple language. I may not be able to respond as can't read the screen at the moment but can type this as don't need to see it to type it but am hoping it goes white again for a few minutes. At the moment it has started flashing a lot and gone momentarily back to normal but once it has started like this before it keeps reverting to pink. Help please. No technical words remember.

I am not a PC person either. But my screen has been acting up for years too... UGG
. Mine fades with a rainbow hugh in and out at times. But ,I have never heard of it going pink. Have you rebooted the whole PC unplugged and all?
And started fresh? Silly as it sounds it sometimes works for my fading and rainbow lines i get. I am sure some techy person will come along and know just what to do for you
.But like you that's all ,I know to do.

Hi Capsicum, tried that one last year, unplugging it. I've turned it off about 7 times now this morning and for the mo I seem to be having a pink break but the pattern last time is it would return. When it's pink, the letters appear white, so it's less than useless.
Come on computer types, where are you in my hour of need.

Well, from time to time there will be issues as a computer gets older with a computer having issues. It could be too expensive to fix, or might have been something else. Like others have said, it never hurts to do a System restore, etc. and see if that fixes the problem before coming to any other conclusions.

I had problem with my computer a couple of days ago. My son was called in to have the software reloaded. And it seems back to normal. There is a software I used earlier, which can help you go back to state set for a certain date. The updates are gone, but at least you have something retained. But if the hardware is broken down, you have to go for a new one.

Hi thea,
I am not a computer expert but I think you have a LCD (monitor) problem.
Some wire that connect the monitor and main body might loose or disconnected. Try to repair it. But if that is too expensive then use lamb suggestion. You problem will be fixed

Hi Akuler, don't think they are too good at fixing laptops, it's been ok now for this afternoon but last year it kept going at any moment. Don't really see there will be much to be achieved by Lamb's suggestion.
Everything breaks down on me but computer expertise is sadly lacking in this area, not a big thing round here yet.

Mine turn black last time and when I bring it to the shop they said it is a monitor problem. It is expensive to replace it but I am just lucky because mine is still under warranty and can replace it with no charge.
Laptop is more complicated then PC. Their components are very pack. And it's cost more to fix it.

Hello, thea09!
It has been three years now. Are you still using the same computer? Did the technician fix your problem? I found a solution.
I have been having the same issue for few months now. I ignored it for everytime I adjust the lid backward or forward, this thing that looks like luminous green fine sand disappears.
Just last night, I was so frustrated because I can no longer fix the problem. The whole screen turned pink whenever I opened the lid to a 90 degree or above angle. It only turned to white again if the lid is open less than 90 degrees. I was really so disappointed because I have already spent too much on two motherboards.
