Hi,
I hope you will doubled clicked the photo/ picture below.
This is an Indian food, children loves them very much.
It's crispy, sweet and yummy...like an extremely thin pancake!
It is called 'roti tissue' or 'tissue bread'
Few years back, we went to an Indian 24 hours shop, they sell
delicious banana leaf rice, and it is very famous. We got a
shocked
to see such a tall 'roti tissue' arrived
at a table there...like a tall tower...lol
So, do share your food experience, it can be anything - as long
as it is about food! Perhaps about exotic food, or the one that
is very popular in Taiwan called 'Toilet Restaurant' whereby the
food serve in special toilet bowl, the menu are all about toilet.
You can google on this famous Toilet Restaurant in Taiwan.
Hope to hear from you, food are culture too

Hi Iriene,
I didn't like this roti tisu. It is too sweet to me. They put a lot of sugar there even when we have sugar crisis here.
I prefer burasa
. This is a must have dish during Hari Raya for Bugis. It is like lemang or ketupat for Malay. But this one is covered by banana leaf like kueh lepat. The ingredient are rice but cooked with santan. And you have to cooked it for 3-4 hours.
ps: lucky you are from Malaysia because I don't know what is the English words for them.

very interesting and delicious. Btw, can we find it

you this Raya...hahaha (just kidding).
Happy Merdeka!

So I must be a total FROG in Malaysia. I have never tried roti tissue. I have never seen those tall roti tissue. I have never tried banana leaf dish. I also have no idea what is burasa. It is such a waste as Malaysia has endless spread of delicious delicasy and here I am not knowing most of them. My new to do task in life shall be to go try and sample Malaysian food as much as I can and learn more about them!

Iriene,
The photo shows a tall 'roti'which is the tallest bread I have ever seen. You can get it listed in Guinness Book of Records as the highest roti ever eaten by anyone. Your son's name will be listed in Guinness Book of Records of eating the highest or tallest bread. I have eaten exotic foods like monitor lizards, turtles, monkeys and pangolins when I was a young boy.

James, can frogs be labelled as exotic? If yes, then I am qualified to declare that at least I have tried one exotic dish. The frog dish when I was little. Now that I am all grown up, I only eat chicken and fish. Nothing else. My uncle shot a monitor lizard recently and got my mom to cook curry with it, my mom oblidge but she cooked it without tasting it and directly sent the whole pot to my uncle's house!

Dear James...
Yes, I got a shock too to see such a high tower
of 'roti tissue'...crispy but a bit too sweet!
Talking about exotic food, let me share all about it,
I live in a small estate in a rural area. Most
of the people stay there are rubber tapper and
they are poor. When you are poor, you will be creative
with your food too, especially end of the month before
the next pay come in. Who will be the victim? The animals
better hide themself by end month or else they will end
up being serve on the dinner table...
My fifth brother have many Indian friends who live in
the estate. During weekend they will go hunting with
their dogs. They will come back with 'biawak' (monitor lizard)
Sometimes they came back with monkeys, rabbit, tortoise, etc.
At time they discovered huge snake, they will killed it and
be divided among all the families there. Once all this exotic
animals cooked with plenty of curry powder, curry leaves..
it is SOOO DELICIOUS, you will want more, forgetting what
is it! So, I have personally eaten 'bayawak', monkeys, tortoise,
turtle, rabbit, deer, birds, pigeons, and many more BUT NOT ANYMORE!
I have stop eating all this meat except quail and deer which at times
I did savour some.
