Aren't They Purrrrrrrr-fect?:) |
|
I ordered my new checks (or cheques as we spell it in Canada) tonight, and here is the blank template I ordered. Aren't they adorable? I had the plain green ones last time, but I decided to go for these ones. I was almost out of cheques anyway, and needed a new set, so I ordered these ones.

1. SomeCowgirl (8291) | 4 months ago | How adorable! On the discussions from my interests page picture, they looked like a butterfly! Precious kittens! I've thought about ordering checks like that myself. I haven't actually ordered any checks (I'm still using the complimentary checks they give at the bank) and now will be waiting until after my fiance and I are married so I can put his name on my account, and change my name on my account!

danishcanadian (20673) | 4 months ago | Thank you. I thought they looked like a butterfly too, in the thumbnail.:)
I kept my name when hubby and I got married, and we kept our own bank accounts too. After three divorces Hubby didn't like the idea of joint accounts anymore, and I'm way too much of a control freak to ever submit to a joint account. LOL It's probably safer for BOTH OF US, to have our own bank accounts. I can be a real 13itch when it comes to money.
A cute thing did happen to him today though, because of my cheques (not the new ones, they haven't arrived yet of course, but the old ones that I have). I got paid today, and Hubby gets paid tomorrow. He wanted to run down to the Asian market to get us some food for dinner, and asked me to lend him some cash. I didn't feel like going out till later that day when I was going to go to the coffee shop anyway, and he didn't feel like waiting. I decided that I was going to order new cheques anyway, so I might as well use up the old ones. So I wrote him a check, and put on a few more bucks than he asked for, because I thought he might want a pack of cigarettes. So off he went to the bank.
Having two different last names, and having opened my account at a different branch than the one by our apartment, I wrote "from your wife, please buy something for dinner" in the Memo field.
"And thank you very much, Mr. Christensen" the teller told him cheerfully, after asking him what we were going to have for dinner.
My husband just beamed, and told her proudly that that was a compliment, but it was my name, that I kept it after we got married, but it was still a compliment to him to be called that.:) We agreed to have separate names, since if he were to take mine, the general majority would still assume that I'd taken his. LOL He actually likes it when people call us Ms. & Mr. Leah Christensen:)
WHAT A MAN I HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

SomeCowgirl (8291) | 4 months ago | That is such a beautiful last name, and such a sweetie to feel complimented even at being called as such. Some men, I can only assume, would be offended rather then feel complimented.
I also understand that you are keeping your namesake to give respect to your family, and maybe (not sure if I got this part right) because you are the last of the Christensen's?
I am not proud of my namesake, though I would take my fiance's last name even if I were because I enjoy the romanticism of the idea of his last name as well.. It's all heart...

danishcanadian (20673) | 4 months ago | Oh, those are cute!!! If you can find a blank template on your bank's website, I'd LOVE to see those. I love my bank. I was able to save the preview, so I wouldn't have to post a picture of my cheque with all the info on it. LOL

danishcanadian (20673) | 4 months ago | My American husband thinks our English spelling is pretty cool too. It's really neat, the differences in spelling and pronounciation sometimes.
No letter "Zee" in the Canadian alphabet, for example. It's the letter "Zed." haha

ElicBxn (15489) | 4 months ago | some I like, some I don't, I guess if it goes toward the French way of spelling I pretty much don't care for it, tho I do rather like the "ou" in things like color/colour and humor/humour.

4. GardenGerty (20422) | 4 months ago | Answering from e mail, I shall guess they are cats. I go with just a monogram usually on my checks. I would have a hard time choosing from all of the cute ones I have seen. It is a tough choice.

6. sunnysmiles (642) | 4 months ago | Wow they are cute! I wish we had blank templates to choose from. In the UK you get a very standard cheque and no option to change it, that I know of anyway. You can choose the design of your plastic credit card from a limited choice but the company does charge you for it. Do you have to pay extra for your cheques or is that a standard thing with Canadian banks?
