I really like making soups in my crockpot today I made Split Pea soup with carrots. It turned out so good! The fact that I don't have to stand around watching it is a godsend!I put the soup on when I came home from work then I did some MYLOTTING,watched a little T.V. It saves me so much time and also allows me the freedom to do other things besides standing over a stove . And the slow cooking always makes the meal taste so much better in my opinion. The cleanup is another thing I like about crockpots with everything going in just one pot its easy cleanup. I also make Great Northern Beans,Lentil Soup,Navy Beans and I also cook Chili in my crockpot. I haven't tried to make Chicken Noodle Soup yet but I plan to do that one day because thats one of my favorite soups. If anybody has any other soups that they make that I haven't listed let me know what it is I would be interested in learning new recipes for crock pot soups especially now since fall and winter will be approaching, nothing like soup to warm you up:-)

Our favorite crock-pot soup is Taco Soup. We serve this with corn chips and shredded cheese. Have also made a Chicken Tortilla soup, served with tortilla chips and cheese. I make Beef Stew/soup and have also made potato soup in the crock-pot. I've never made the split pea soup, not sure the kids would eat it. I've done beans, chili, roast, and lots of different chicken recipes.
As you can see I love my crock-pot too!
Since you are looking for new recipes I'll share Taco Soup with Black Beans, from Fix It And Forget It cookbook.
1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained (I use ground venison when I have it)
28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1 can corn, undrained
1 can black beans, undrained
1 can red kidney beans, undrained
1 envelope dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix
1 envelope dry taco seasoning
1 small onion, chopped
1 Combine all ingredients except chips, shredded cheese, and sour cream in slow cooker.
2 Cover. Cook on Low 4-6 hrs.
3 Garnish individual servings with chips, cheese and sour cream.

Hi Caver1
That sounds delicious I love black beans (although I will substitute ground turkey for ground beef I haven't eaten beef in over 27 years. But it will taste just as good I'm sure. And thanks for the recipe that was so nice of you to type that all in :o) I like the concept of fix it and forget it if your a busy person you don't want to have the stand over a stove cooking while you can be doing your house chores or MYLOTTING LOL

I agree. I absolutely LOVE crockpots. They save so much stress. I cook and clean for 2 roommates and myself while working full-time freelancing and volunteering. My favorite recipe? Pizza Soup.
Tomato sauce,
mushrooms
pepperoni
bits of onion
3 hours on HIGH
(pasta, optional, last 30 minutes)
Serve with shredded mozzarella on top!
Super easy and tastes yum.
