I haven't used a conventional mouse for years now. I think the last time I used one was in 2004. It used to drive me nuts when just a small amount of dust would affect its performance.

When i purchased computer i have taken a optical mouse.OPtical mouse is good to
operating and easy to work.I feel comfortable with optical mouse.
I will clean my optical mouse once in a week.

I haven't used the ball mouse for a very long time. I have mouse with the scroll wheel in the middle and it has the receiver that plugs into the usb port on the compuer. I think that is is an optical mouse, but you know when I boy them, I really don't pay attention. I don't even think you can buy the ball mouse anymore. I would have to take the ball out so often and clean it up, that is got so frustrating, then I decided to change the mouse. I sue a laptop, so I have a table that the laptop is sitting on and just enough room for the mouse to sit on the end of he table.
