Have you met anyone famous or been yards away from someone famous?

I have met several renowned people in my life and even have had them at my house. My father was a well known scientist and so are my brother, sister ans brother in law. I have dined with Nobel Prizes many times. They are the same as everybody, except they are usually more modest. I have also met well known football (soccer) players from other parts of the world when my husband was a profesional football player and also belonged to the national team.

Hi lakerfanster, I've never heard of Thea Gilmore but we share the same name I see, what nationality is she? Now years ago my friend and I were in Stratford upon Avon and strolling along to the Dirty Duck, a famous watering hole there. As we walked down the street we thought we saw John Thaw and we were saying is it, isn't it??? He passed us and assured us it was indeed him. Later on that night we were at a production in The Other Place where the seats are informally set around the stage and John Thaw was on stage and recognised us and threw us a wink.

I met Jean Claude Van Damme at Planet Hollywood in Bevery Hills one time. He was there. I got his signature too and a picture. I wish I could have gotten a picture with him but he had to leave. My parents got to meet Kurt Russell to say Hi when they were at the same airport he was at. They also got a picture of Mario Van Peebles who was just leaving Planet Hollywood where they were. They didn't get to meet him though. Oh, the big one though is my dad. When he was a young fellow, in the 1960's, he got to meet John Wayne who was with a USO tour and he came on the Navy ship my dad was on. We have pictures which I will attach one.

Hello, I have met Michael E. Knight, the soap opera actor who plays Tad Martin on All My children. He was very nice. His manager was wanting him to leave but he wouldn't leave until all his fans have met him who were still standing in line. I have been around MLB players,mainly pitchers in the bullpen. My b/f has gotten autographs for me, personalized to me directly. My b/f had even introduced some of my nephews to Miguel Batista, a pitcher for the Seattle Mariners.

There used to be lots of CD signings in my area and thru those I met Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Deana Carter, Joe Nichols and Rascal Flatts. When I was younger, I also went to book signings with my mom and we met Mary Higgins Clark, Jimmy Carter, and Terry Bradshaw. One time, when my sister was little, she went with my mom to a Garth Brooks outdoor free concert and they got so close that she was able to shake his hand. I always thought that was kind of cool too. :)
