I wanted to join in the Philippine Election Discussion Band Wagon... so please bear with me and share your thoughts...
Much has been said about Mar's Sacrifice and Noynoy's huge decision making process...
Villar is already being gunned down by several senators because he was like one of the first to publicly announced that he will run for President next year...
Binay dropped out of the race and expressed that he wants to run for VP under the wing of Joseph Estrada...
Ed Panlilio is serious considering to dropped out to and just support the candidacy of Noynoy...
There is still legal talk if Estrada is indeed qualified to run as President... and Loren Legarda is still firm that she is ready and the most qualified to become the next President of the Philippines...
etc... etc... etc...
With all these bruhahaha... i wonder who will lead the administration in the coming 2010 elections... I always thought it will be Noli de Castro... but he has been really quiet these pass few months... and i can't think of anyone that Pres GMA would bless as her successor... could it be that she is actually cooking up a plan to remain in power longer than she should?...

Right now, I think it's between MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando and Defense Secretary whom I forgot the name.
In any case, I am quite that no matter whom they choose it will not most likely to win anyway.
The public has not yet trusted GMA that much so any candidate they will endorse might suffer.
Thanks!

I guess this is one of th reasons why the administration hasn't given any definite names yet... they are not sure who is strong and popular enough to carry the torch... but for sure... i won't be voting for the one who will be chosen by the government...

I think it is a strategy for the admin not to announce their bet this early. they would definitely want to surprise the opposition about their bet. I think right now they still are seeing a fragmented opposition which they could easily take to their advantage if that happens. It just means that they could consolidate admin votes and divide the opposition votes to their candidates which means that admin would still win having their single candidate. But they have to choose wisely in their choosing their standard bearer since the opposition has far more resources in terms of who will be their aspirants are concerned. In the Admin it seems there is very little in their roster that volunteered to run and many are not even went to the top 5 in the surveys.

Well, i think that is a good strategy... keep quiet then announce with a lot of bruhaha... i hope the opposition will indeed come up with only one Presidentiable... with what is happening now... it seems that they themselves are not united... and who would want to support a group who cannot even unite as one...
