Wake up call

Last month, Michael Jackson died. Big news, lots of publicity, all over the tv, magazines, internet, everywhere. How that affects me is that he is 9 months younger then me. Also last month, a friend of mine died. She was only a couple of years then me. I heard she just sort of slumped over while talking to her daughter. They took her to the hospital but by the time they got there she was already dead of a heart attack. I am, as the medical term is, morbidly obese. I have been overweight since I was in school. I have tried dieting at times and even went down to obese rating but ended up gaining it back and more. I have been back losing weight, for me, for my kids, for my family in general. I am posting this as a challenge to myself. I am taking responsibility and trying to do my best to lose at least 100 pounds. At 2 pounds a week average it should take a year, I figure it should come off faster to start but then later at a steady pace. I'm not going to be making a regular post about it but I will try to keep up with my progress on a regular basis either with comments here or with new posts.

Go for it. I hate these people lost their lives but I hope you can change yours. Good eating and a good and steady excercise program and you will pour the pounds right off. Get some advice from your doctor and do not over do yourself. I am glad to hear that you are going to work hard for yourself and those you love. Life is too short as is you almost have to do anything possible to get every day you can out of it. Good luck with your journey and please do keep us posted.
