Fried Rice, Anyone?

nope, I am not from the Philippines, but we are from the same contingent.. I maybe a few hours away from you by flight..

fried rice for breakfast? some of us here like to do that too, but for me, I will still like it to be lunch..

kmaram, we also have some belachan we called it here, where is a combination of some chilli, onion, garlic and some paste which make food taste and smell much better..

oh ya, the chinese sausage, something not to be miss too in the fried rice.. sometimes, something simple can just make our day ay..

marguicha, wow wow.. you are really intact with MyLot ya.. and even able to just have cold rice to sit in front of your PC..

here in where I stay, we seldom take cold rice, and those cold rice will turn into fried hot rice.. or else we will steam it back and then eat with other dishes.. my mum seldom allow us to re-steam rice, and so frying them is the best alternative so we are not wasting..

20021114476, yup, fried rice with lots of other ingredients make it very very tasty.. and glad you too like it very much.. and even able to make different combination.. mind to share what are the combinations you have?

the rice will not be spoiled if you put in the chiller/ fridge with air tight and no water touching the rice. As long as it remain dry, it will be OK till a week or two.. if you worry, you may put it in the freezer too..

vingyan.. if it's only a day or 2, it won't be enough to cook up a dish of fried rice for my family.. so, I normally will also freeze them in case it is not enough.. but never more than 2 weeks sitting in the fridge..

yup, ikan bilis is also another type of ingredient that we like to put in our fried rice...

Sir_bobby88, yup, that's what my mum used to teach us.. not to waste food.. therefore extra rice will be kept, and I think by frying those overnight rice, make the fried rice taste better too.. coz it's not as moist as those newly cooked..

Frankly, I will not know how to fried rice with new cooked rice from the cooker to the pan! and I don't see a point of cooking a pot of rice just to fry it!

hi horsesrule... sometimes something simple may just make our day.. we don't really need lots and lots of ingredient in fried rice, but of course, if one enjoys it that way, it will be good too..

wow, your Chinese Restaurant serve best chicken fried rice too hah.. here, we normally like to order salted fish fried rice, or some like the traditional style of fried rice..

I do have mix veg such as corn, peas, and cube carrots as the veg added into the rice for frying..

Well, I usually do most of the eating part and less of the cooking part. But eating it is really fun.

marctiu, hahahah.. you are so funny... and yes, we ate the fried rice on itself, and I think that's the purpose of putting in all other ingredients.. and I like the way you say, you enjoy the eating part, and not the cooking part..

I am the opposite, I enjoy the cooking part, but not very much of eating it..

actually for the person that cook a meal, nothing bids that the person who eat it enjoys the food that they cook.. very good satisfaction..

Yeah, definitely it's cool and great to use our rice...and even make it more creative...right?? It's more delicious also than a plain rice...

jayrene, I wish I could also do that.. however I just don't like cooking too much rice, provided I have already plan to fry rice for tomorrow menu. Normally, fried rice will be a dish when I finally have enough rice..

I think with just enough other ingredients, we will be able to just have fried rice as one food on itself!
