Why do girls prefer tall guys?

well i think guys are more particular about height. i am a girl and height doesn't really matter to me. however, i've never had a guy shorter than me express an interest in me. it seems that guys are quite particular about having their girlfriend taller than them. looking at couples around me, none of them is the guy shorter than the girl. most of them are either about the same height or the guy is taller.

It amazes me how many guys lie about how tall they are when describing themselves online...many put that they are much taller than they really are...which is stupid because if you meet someone you will be found out to be a pathetic liar.

I also think that shorter women with a tall guy looks ridiculous...just my opinion.

I'm sort of tall for a woman at 173 cms and I have always liked tall men especially as my partner...I'm just not comfortable with guys shorter than me. I like to lean on my guy, snuggle into him as he puts his arms around me. I love to lean on his chest when he holds me and put my face up to his for his kiss.

I like tall guys too. On external, tall guys look like strong and we think they can take care of us. They look superior, they look like a superhero, LOL. Kidding! Honestly I prefer tall guys because I am petite. Where talking about our future kids, I don't want to be them shorter than I am. We do believe that if you choose the daddy of your kids taller, your kid's will get the daddy's height. But that is only a beliefs, no scientific study was based.

Hello, the scerotype is the guy is usually taller than the girl, thus the girl feels safer or more comfortable. But I do agree with you that girls prefer tall guys, because it gives more securtiy feeling or the body proportion looks better.

I think it's a pretty natural thing to prefer a guy taller than yourself if you are a girl. In Hollywood, you rarely see a smaller guy portrayed with a taller girl. It's the way society has constantly portrayed us and we've gotten used to it. Additionally, what if Angelina Jolie were taller than Brad Pitt? Would we think they were such a "perfect couple?"

Usually tall guys have a better body shape than those were not that tall, of couse tall guys can previde a sense of pretection and secure, and I love to look up to guys,too.

I am 5 feet 8 inches tall and prefer a man to be taller than I am. I guess this all started in elementary school for me. During those days we put on a lot of programs at school like a Cinderella play in the fourth grade. I was taller than everybody else in my class at that time. So, I was taller than my dance partner. I felt funny being so much taller than my male partner. I think that is why the height of a man is so important to me today. Good discussion.

In my opinion it is always good to have a taller guys as life partner. When you walk around with him you will feel secure and safe and you will not feel any fear. Everyone have a different opinion about this but i prefer taller guys. I guess most of the guys prefer their life partner should be a shorter than them.

I would date a guy my height, 5'5" but I wouldn't date anyone shorter. i just would n't like having to look down on him. I wouod feel uncomfortable.
