At my work, I almost doing the same thing everyday. From time to time, one year or two, three years later, my enthusiasm for my work almost gone, because the process is almost repetitive, and less and less challenge everyday. Because of this economic recession, I have to stay for the reason of stable income. Otherwise, I will definitely out there to search new opportunity. My question is, how can you keep up your enthusiasm toward your work? Besides the earning, and the benefits. What else you might need?

ha ha... that's funny you should post this discussion at this particular minute as I'm sitting here knowing I should be getting ready to go in for the late shift but I am really not up for it today. I have foolishly volunteered to do an extra shift (I had to go in for a 90minute course so thought, since I'd have to run the car, I may as well stay for the full 8 hours.....) It has been very hard work lately but is centred round people so doesn't get boring. Having said that, I am keeping my eyes open for new opportunities. Most of the time, its the human interaction with colleagues and clients that keeps my enthusiasm going and the fact that I have to appear happy and upbeat even if I dont feel it - but, sometimes, those things can be the worst aspects. I'm grateful that I am still physically able to work I guess because I come into contact with a lot of people who would love that opportunity - however crap their job was.

well, nice to know someone who so enthusiastic about his job. I am not sometimes, felt like I am more like a robot than a human beings when I am doing this job. Well, at least I could keep up my payment every month. So, I should stay and keep on searching.

When I was at work, I liked my job fine because it was a good pay job and I always had free time to do my "own" stuff at work :-p so I was always happy working there and told myself it was a very good chance for me to have found this job.

When I think of the stuffs I have to pay every months and the fees of my studies then automatically I have to gather up my enthusiasm to work better so that I do not get fired and thus to earn better too.

I work for the government, so I can say this it's actually boring and very repetitive. I do also lost my mood during work, and when I do, it's as if I just want to stay at home and do nothing. It is worst when I lost my mood in the middle of work LOL. But I do some stuffs to get rid of those negative mood. When it's just temporary, I'll just turn on the music. It really helps. But if it's a big bad mood, I'll take a few days off and go traveling. And when I come back, I'm ready to work again. :)
