1. UmiNoor (403) | 3 months ago | Since you're a US citizen, you have more opportunities to get paid for writing. Associated Content offers very reasonable upfront payment for content. I also have written an article about How Do Writers Get Paid For Writing Online. If you wish to read my article, this is the link: http://www.bukisa.com/art... can also get writing assignments from eLance.com and constant-content.com. Just google them and you'll find the link. Good Luck with writing.

UmiNoor (403) | 3 months ago | I don't write for Associated Content because I'm not qualified for their upfront payment. I write for Bukisa and get paid for page view so if you view my articles I get paid. At Bukisa you can write about anything as long as they are how to or informative articles. They don't accept news articles. You have to write at least 250 words which is easy to achieve. I find my articles there get indexed by Google very fast so I get many organic traffic to my articles. So if my keywords are really well-optimized, I get many traffic from the search engines.

2. sierras236 (495) | 3 months ago | If you want upfront payments check out associated content. However, I have found that Helium has higher residual amounts. Although, you have to maintain a rating star. Those are just two you can look into.

3. compumom (570) | 3 months ago | I’ve been slowly compiling a database of freelance writing sites.
The database is not complete, but I have at least 25 freelance writing sites listed. Some of them pay through residual earnings and others pay up front.
If you’re interested, the database is located here: http://www.nojobformom.co... you have to do is select the type of resource, i.e, Writing Sites, and click search.
I update the database as time permits. I also give my opinions and share my experience on those sites that I've actually used.

4. greenline (4129) | 2 months ago | Writing has been one of my favorite hobbies since my student days. I still enjoy writing very much, though I could not devote much time to it these days, with my full time job taking most of the hours each day. Here is one site where I have been writing stories: work-online.org.uk This is a UK site. One can write short stories, and when accepted, get paid. I have been with this site for a few months now, and I am very happy with it.

5. cwilson26 (1610) | 2 months ago | I have been writing for content sites for three years now and earn decent money. There are a few good sites to check out. Associated Content pays upfronts on most articles and they also give you a monthly bonus for page views. Demand Studios pays $5 to $15 per article but they have become more strict than they were when I first started a year ago. You have to fill out an application and submit a resume to get hired through them but once you do and they accept your writing, the money is good. These are my two best sites I write for.
There is also ehow.com, bukisa, helium, triond, suite 101, ecopywriters, and textbroker. Ecopywriters and textbroker pay you a flat fee and ehow, bukisa, helium, suite 101 and triond pay for page views only. Oh and there is also Bright Hub which pays $10 per article but I don't know much about them because I don't write for them. I got accepted but haven't started yet.
Good luck and I hope you find the sites you like!:)
