my mom thinks i might have fibermyalgia  | |  i was in a car accident a couple years ago and i've been having a lot of pain ever since i told my mom about where i was having the pain and she figures i may have fibermyalgia. i know that it is caused by a traumatic experience like a car accident but i'm affraid to ask my doc about it any suggestions

And if you haave pain from an accident, then you've had an injury or injuries that should have been attended to a long time ago. Fibro can be a result of long-term stress, but doesn't necessily come from one incident. See your doctor.

| | | 3. darcie13 (5) | 3 months ago | Fibro is tricky. But I agree with the earlier response. There are MANY symptoms associated. Try some medical sites for lists of symptoms to see if any of those fit. There is not true way to diagnose, so doctors are almost forced to used pain points, and a system of ruling out other possibilities. It took me many years to be diagnosed with fibromyalgia and the doctors are still not 100% convinced that it is not something else- still undergoing tests and trying new drug remmedies all the time. For me, the pain can come and go, but when it comes, it is VERY severe. | |
