1. Binthu (2960) | 3 months ago | Hi Shankes,
Diabetics is one of the very dangerous dis order and don't have the treatments for that dis order, but at the same time we have to control with particular anti-diabetics medicines. Most of the diabetics patients should take more care especially on their diet in order to control the dis order and also to develop the immunity power to live without any moire other infections. So just be concentrate on the regular diets and informed your father to take the Vegetables and Fruits frequently on the foods and also asked him to drink lots of water.
Most of the times you have to ask him to do some mild exercise, which is very good for him to control the diabetics in a good manner, and also it will create the good appetizer in order to have the good foods at the right times. With regards to herbal medicines as I have informed you earlier that all the medicines are only for the control and not for the permanent treatment of the diabetes. So better to stick on the proper diet and asked him to be relax as much as possible in order to have the good life and also to maintain the diabetics within control .
Have a nice day.

2. rsa101 (7335) | 3 months ago | To date I have not known any medicinal cure for it. Diabetes is a disease where one of your internal organs does not function properly anymore. It has something to do with your pancreas, where it has either stopped producing insulin that processes your blood sugar to be absorb by your cells. Excess of sugar in the blood would mean it could damage you other organs or have other complication in your body like high blood pressure problems in the kidney, eyes and many more.
The best that you could really do is stop the vices that you were in and have a healthy lifestyle and take the proper medications prescribed. Many says doing that may slow down the progression of your disease and eventually make your life longer. But as you grow old that disease would also catch up with you and eventually would fall into it when your body weakens as you grow old.

3. Shebang (212) | 3 months ago | Hi shankes,
My father was diabetic too. He was 20 years diabetic. Family friends get amazed because we were able to survive our father that long.
You should know that diabetes is a lifelong disease. There's no cure for it. Diabetes can only be controlled. You have to watch anything that you're father eats. The difficult part is that, they cannot eat most of the foods that they have enjoyed prior to acquiring the disease. Also, you have to monitor the blood sugar of your father from time to time.
A friend of mine introduced me to YACON. It's a food that's good for diabetic person. Search on the net so you'll personally know the benefits.

| shankes (32) | 3 months ago | is it true that diabetics patients will not live longer, the reason i asked you the question is you said that you were amazed about your father on his survival
is the lifespan less for diabetic patients.

Shebang (212) | 3 months ago | I don't think so. Having the disease does not mean it will make your life shorter. It can though if the person is, first and foremost, CARELESS. The key why my father survived his illness that long is that he was a very disciplined person. When I say discipline, he's really tough on himself that I don't think any person with the same illness can do. What can the medication do if the patient can't control himself from eating sweets? It will become useless.

4. dlr297 (2803) | 3 months ago | I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago.
I was taking 3 shots of insulin and pills everyday. I had a bad reaction to the pills that they had me on. so i quit taking them, then i quit taking the insulin, because i could not afford it. No health insurance.
About 3 weeks after finding out i had it. I started looking around for something to do about it. Medical doctors will tell you their is no cure for it.
What i did was change my diet. I no longer eat 1. fast food, or processed food 2. anything with high fructose corn syrup in it. 3, I limit my intake of potatoes, bread, and pasta. 4. the sweetener that i use is xylitol. 5. I eat only organic foods.
I get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. I get at least 1 hour of exercise every day. I drink at least 5 glasses of water purified water everyday
I take salba everyday- i just mix it in with my water. it is for extra fiber. I take a good multi-vitamin, and mineral supplement everyday. I also take flax oil everyday I also take Vitamin D3 I also take coq10
and i also take a supplement called glucobiotic supreme everyday.
I no longer take any kind of prescription drug. and my blood sugar has been within a normal range for over a year now.

| ticob1965 (23) | 3 months ago | I don't know why this happened to you but I am happy for you. I think though the implications of not taking your meds are to severe ie. blindness, amputation, heart disease ect.

|
| shankes (32) | 3 months ago | really really i am very thankful to you for your worthfull tricks, but let me know one think do you consume meat in your diet,is it safe eating it and one more suppose if my dad drinks alchol during any functions what to should he do to lower the overdosed sugarlevels,i have asked you this because you seemed to be experienced very well in controlling diabetics
| |
|
|
dlr297 (2803) | 3 months ago | Yes i eat meat in my diet, but i try to stay away from fried foods, even though i do eat it once in a while. as for drinking alchol it is not good because it has a lot of sugar in it. I only drink a little wine every now and then but not very much.
Potatoes and bread are bad for dietetics because they turn to sugar.
If your dad is over weight that will also add to his sugar being high
| |
|
|
dlr297 (2803) | 3 months ago | ticob1965, I do not need the meds or the insulin anymore because i got it under control, with life style changes, and by natural ways instead of the prescription drugs which are dangerous to take. because of side effects.

| 5. ticob1965 (23) | 3 months ago | To date there is no cure for diabetes. My son has type 1 and takes insulin. He no longer uses needles but uses a pump. He counts his carb intake and puts it into the pump and it calculates the amount of insulin he gets. Diabetes is caused when the pancreas stops functioning.
| |
| |
|
|
| shankes (32) | 3 months ago | hey ticob sorry for your son because he has diabetics, really these people must kill all their wishes especially in case of food,ok you are saying pancreas are the reason for this diabetics,so is there any good food which increases the effectiveness of pancreas so that atleast a percentage in glucose levels gets decreased and thereafter this disease can get controlled,so is there any food or something else
| |
|
|
| ticob1965 (23) | 3 months ago | I am not aware of any foods that will help prevent this. Some say that type 1 is hereditary others disagree. Type 2 happens when someone is over weight has a poor diet and does not exercise.
