Ellen DeGeneres is replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol!!

I was not a fan of Idol and can count on one hand the number of times I watched it. I would watch it if a friend insist I should watch a certain episode and rarely watched the whole thing but what kind of experience does Ellen have in the music field. I could see if she was on a pnael to pick the next comedian by singer??

Yes I totally agree that its the beginning of the end of the show. Mainly because once you start changing the formual of the show it starts to go downhill. However I will watch because I'm interested in seeing what Ellen will bring to the show and how she will judge. I think she will be like Paula and not be cruel like the others can be. Yes I think it will be quite different and I truly believe that Ellen's big personality is going to outshine the others. She was a guest judge on Do you think you can dance" last season and was pretty good. I think she will be great.

Ellen will be great I believe but Posh would not be. She has not a bit of personality, nor does she smile. I find her to be cold and boring. She may be different behind closed doors but that is what I see when she is on TV. I heard she was a guest host for one session of the audtions and she was really bad. Thanks for responding.

I watched the show of Ellen many times she is very funny. I think she can help American Idol to be interesting. So that viewers going to watch something because sometimes I tired of watching the same thing all over again. From the last American
idol season I stop watching it I think I watched it thrice after than I lost my interest to watch it again.

@agv I can already imagine in my head the 'jokes' that she will include. Especially the auditions round, it would be a riot! Ha..

No I think Posh did one show of auditions but I heard it was really bad. I think now with Ellen they will not be having guest judges on accept for the beginning with just the auditions. You know the shows where alot of people think they can sing and they can't. I think that is how its going to work. I'm not sure. I think the auditions have all been done now that is why I'm saying that.

Ohhhh, so she was bad huh.. perhaps she still needs some form of blending with A.I in terms of judge-concept. When I first read about her appearance, I was wondering whether she could make the cut too.

Yes I think when it comes to Ellen and Simon the chemistry will be quite different then what Paula brought to the table. However, I do believe that Ellen and Simon are friends so it should be a fun time and alot more entertaining.

I love Paula because she has a heart and was never rude or cruel to the contestants. I believe that Ellen will bring the same type of kindness to the show plus maybe alot of comedy to it too. We shall see. Thanks for responding.

I thought the same thing but I think Ellen will bring a more entertaining show and alot more comedy to it. We shall see. I think Ellen is an all around entertainer and can hear whether someone can sing or not. I think most of us can say if someone can sing or not. We may not have the technical capabilities but we know what sounds good and what doesn't for the most part. When a singer can give me goosebumps or make me cry they have the magic touch. I don't know we shall see. Like I said earlier Ellen can hear a good voice or not. I know I can tell if someone can sing or not. We may not have the technical aspect of a singers voice but we know what sounds good and what doesn't. I think Ellen is going to breath new life into the show and its going to be alot of fun. I agree I love them both and I think they both have compassion for people. The contestants will be treated nice by Ellen like Paula did. The show needed a person like that. Posh ( Spice Girls) would never have worked out because she is not compassionate and she is a bit boring in my opinion. Thanks for responding.
