What to do next. |
|
I've just finished writing a story, I'm really pleased with it and the people who have read it have told me it was good. What do I do with it now it's finished? I know I need to tweak bits here and there, correct spelling mistakes, check punctuation etc. but shall I just leave it in a cupboard?

1. lakerfanster (409) | 3 months ago | Read it through as if you were reading someone else's book and then if you really feel that you need to edit bits then write them down on another piece of paper and then carry on reading your story. If you are happy with it then think about whether you could see it being published.

| 4. Msabu09 (75) | 3 months ago | No, no, no - don't leave it in a cupboard! If you really believe it's publish-able, then do your research and determine if you shall self-publish or send it in to a publishing house. But first - you do need to do your edits. Need any help with that?

6. dorypanda (1042) | 3 months ago | Well, first you need to let a fully experienced proof-reader to look through it for you. (That'd be me then), then you'll need a qualified typist to type it up for you, if you've not already done it. (hmmm, that'd be me then). Then.......I'm not sure actually. You could self-publish by sending it to a team of typesetters. Hmmmm, who knows a good team of typesetters?:P

8. wolfie34 (13861) | 3 months ago | Find a reputable publishing company that specializes in the subject of your book my friend. I used to write novels but for me they were too private and not professional to get published, I put them in the cupboard to read in my old age, but sad to say that I burnt them because they were taking up room and as I moved so many times it was added weight. I wish you well with it and who knows when I go in the bookshop next in our country I could see one of your books, let me know if you publish it my friend. Good luck!
